Obituary

Mary C (Lombardi) Melaragno, age 98, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022. She was born on April 16, 1923 and grew up in Canton, Ohio before moving to Columbus. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished times with her family, especially on the holidays when the house was full. She was a founding member of St. Andrew Parish and began each day praying the Rosary. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and was an avid Buckeyes and Columbus Blue Jackets fan. She spent many winters in Venice, FL with her husband, Pat, where she looked forward to visits from her family. She is preceded in death by loving husband of 70 years, Pat V Melaragno, parents Nicola and Josephine Lombardi, in-laws Salvatore and Bambina (Iannicito) Melaragno, brother and sister- in-law Dominick and Laura Lombardi, sister Lucille Lukens, brother Robert Lombardi, brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Nedda Melaragno, and sister-in-law Rita Melaragno. She is survived by her "precious jewels," her children, Olin (Barb) Melaragno, Robert (Marcella) Melaragno, Patty (Mark) Boll, Lori (Jim) Kane and Jane (Carl) Bucher; 16 grandchildren and spouses; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 due in April 2022; brothers-in-law, George (Esther), Dr. Henry (Dorothy) and Dr. Ernest Melaragno; sisters-in-law, Angie Melaragno and Janette Lombardi; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Mass Thursday, January 6 at 10:30 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road (Upper Arlington) with viewing at the church one hour prior to the service. Please wear a mask. Private graveside service.
