Dear Polis Family,
I was sorry to hear of the loss of Steve. I send my deepest sympathy and hope that you will find comfort in the many great memories and the love of family and friends. He touched many lives and will be sorely missed but fondly remembered.

My thoughts are with your entire family over the loss of such a great man. I have so many fond memories of 'Uncle Steve', from tailgating for Ohio State football games with him always making sure I was getting enough food, to his role as Santa Claus and surprising us every year by showing up at our house throughout my childhood. He was a true friend to our family to the point he was truly considered family.

From : Mike Kourie
While growing up the Kourie family always had a special relationship with the Polis family. Our parents thought the world of your family. Time with the Polis's was always joyous and filled with laughter. For me personally, Steve and Joe were 2 guys I always looked up to. As a matter of fact, they were idols and role models to me. Kind, funny and gentlemen are but a few words to describe Steve and Joe in my mind. I know my sisters feel the same about the Polis girls. Your family has done something that is rare now a days, you have positively impacted the lives of many many people.
I am SO saddened to get this news. This hurts a lot.
On behalf of our father and mother, Joe and Jenny, and my sisters, Nancy, Cindy and Sue, we mourn with you and we are grateful for our special bond.
Steve lives in our hearts.
May God bless the Polis Family.

My most sincere condolences. I, like countless others, was touched by Steve's kindness and generosity. Always fun to see and talk to - so hard to think I won't see him again.

My deepest condolences for your loss. Spent 12 years with Steve from first grade through 12th. His sisters and brother were in all my sisters' classes. They were a great family and Steve was always a kind and considerate man. I know he will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Three generations of the Clark, Smith and Litzinger families are lucky to have know Steve. His great sense of humor, kindness and generosity have touch us all. We will always remember his care and concern for others and smile as we think of him. Now he is at peace, and probably holding "court" with others he loved! God Bless You All
