Obituary

William L. "Bill" "Red" Scharlott, was born August 29, 1931 to Nina Scharlott of Cleveland and John Tiernan of County Wicklow, Ireland, and died on Monday, January 27, 2014, surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by son-in-law, Richard T. Breeze. Survived by wife of 44-years, Frances; children, Matthew (Sandy Alcott), Brad (Sally Barringer), Lee Ann Breeze, Lisa (Jeff) Mann, Peggy "Maggie" (Dennis) Thomas and Agnes (David) Keplar; grandchildren, Daniel Thomas, Kate Breeze, Suzee Breeze, Carey Clifford, Jeny Breeze, Adriene Mann, Liz Mann, Will Scharlott, Leah Scharlott, Jacob Beckett; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Brandon, Addison and Andrew Thomas, Michael and Elizabeth Breeze, Cain and Astrid Gleason. A friend of Bill W. with 23-years of sobriety. He attended Central High School and Columbus State Community College. He was president of the St. Francis Senior Citizens and a member of the Flytown Men's Club and the Guild Athletic Club. Bill was the retired owner of MAFCO and was a Tin Man for over 40-years. Friends may call Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 4-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, with the Flytown and GAC services beginning at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are asked to gather for his funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 386 Buttles Avenue, Columbus (43215). Rev. Fr. Fritzner Valcin, Presider. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Bill to St. Francis Church. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.
