Obituary

Tom Tippett was a man of unwavering faith, deeply devoted to his church and his mission to serve the Lord. No matter where life took him, his Bible and devotional book were always close at hand. Each morning, he made time to read, reflect, and pray- grounding himself in scripture before facing the day. Born and raised in Ohio, Tom attended several schools across the state before graduating from Saint Francis DeSales High School. He later moved to Florida to attend the University of Florida, where he earned a degree in business. While working at Red Lobster during college, he met his first wife, Gail. They were married for 14 years and lived in Naples, Florida, where they raised their daughter, Stephanie. A true "foodie," Tom loved discovering unique restaurants both locally and while traveling. He was also a passionate cook and enjoyed hosting holiday meals for his extended family in Florida- always featuring his legendary Caesar salad (IYKYK). Tom loved to go antiquing- a hobby that shaped not only his weekends but the very soul of his home. His gifts were never generic; they were tokens of memory. On holidays and birthdays, friends and family received treasures of his unique finds. Tom was an active member of North Naples United Methodist Church, where he participated in multiple mission trips to Cat Island in the Bahamas through his "Advance the Faith" group. Advancing his faith, Tom and a core group of friends started Table of Grace. This organization, which he helped establish with his close friend Terry Hand, focused on sharing faith and support with a local orphanage. Even after returning to Ohio, Tom remained committed to its mission and continued mentoring people of all ages through various church groups. Tom moved back to Columbus, Ohio seven years ago to be closer to his brothers and lifelong friends. He continued to nurture his faith at Discover Christian Church, where he was known for warmly welcoming members and leading the men's Bible study group nearly every Sunday evening. Tom created a safe, supportive space filled with humor, encouragement, and spiritual guidance. His impact was so profound that when asked for stories, the church community offered enough to fill a book. Tom also participated in numerous mission trips, including Crossroads Missions in Piedras Negras, Mexico (2024), North Carolina, and the Christian Children's Home of Ohio. He served with Columbus Relief, helping remodel buildings and support individuals facing addiction and homelessness. Above all, Tom cherished his relationship with his daughter Stephanie, who lives in Naples with her fiance, Cody Scott. Together, they shared many joyful traditions- attending The Nutcracker each Christmas, cheering at Buckeye games, visiting zoos and wildlife parks, and riding roller coasters at amusement parks. Stephanie brought out the playful, youthful side of Tom, and their bond was truly special. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Antoinette Tippett; and nephew, Antonio Tippett. He is lovingly remembered by his brothers and their families, Peter (Kathryn) and children, Hudson & Oakley; Daniel (Louise) and children, Amanda (Dan Webb), great-nephew, Murphy; Emma (Evan Lingrel), Anna, Vincent, and Carmella. Tom's legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. Friends and family are invited to gather on Friday, Nov 14, 2025 at Discover Christian Church 2900 Martin Rd, Dublin, Ohio, from 2-4 pm. A memorial service will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's memory to Discover Christian Church or Columbus Relief.

Tom brought me into the appraisal profession and was my mentor for many years in Naples/Bonita Springs. I greatly appreciate everything that he did for me. Tom was incredibly kind and shared his time and knowledge over the years that I worked with him. He helped guide myself and one of my very good friends toward getting our certification and ultimately our MAI designations. I will miss and appreciate what Tom did for me for the rest of my life.

I am very sorry for your loss. I worked with Tom on a few occasions. He was always respectful and prepared. Life is obviously not fair. I am sure he is in a better place. Prayers and positive thoughts for all of you.
