Obituary

Theodore E. Badley aka Ted, Papa Theo, Daddio, Tedadore and Teddy, age 72 passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home after a courageous battle with cancer on September 25, 2024. He is predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Esther (Held) Badley; son, Theodore "Jimmy" Badley; and nephew, Jake Loewel. Teddy is survived by his wife of 45 years, Christine (Gorman) Badley; children, Kathryn (James) Lake, Patrick (Alexandra Diaz), Jeremy (Laura Hang) Badley; granddaughters, Gracyn Lake, Madison Lake and Eliana Badley; sisters, Barb Loewel and Nancy (Lee) Ferris; in-laws, Mike (Anne) Gorman, Diane (Mark) Francescon, and Julie (Roger) Escolas; and many other nieces and nephews and special friends known as the Yumpis. Teddy was a graduate of UAHS Class of 1970 and of the OSU College of Business in 1974. He was a cash register salesperson for 29 years. Teddy was instrumental in developing the St. Agatha Soccer Program, expanding it to include all grades K-8. Ted could be seen mowing the Soccer Fields and striping the lines on Sunday mornings. Ted was a wonderful Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Father-in-Law and friend to countless many. He was an avid golfer and sports fan of the Buckeyes and Columbus Crew. He was also most famous for making Sunday morning pancakes with sprinkles. Ted was a member of the Hibiscus Pointe Community located on Fort Myers Beach enjoying Bocce, Golf and Friday Night Happy Hours. He started each day with a steno pad writing his to-do list which included what he wanted to do for Chris. Teddy was an eternal optimist, and never gave up holding all of us up by demonstrating tremendous courage and spirit. Ted's last words to Chris the night before he passed were "Tomorrow's going to be a better day." The family holds sincere gratitude to all the physicians and staff at the OSU James Cancer Hosptial. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W. 5th Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43212. Teddy will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery, 9751 N. High Street, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035. In lieu of flowers the family asks to please consider a donation in Teddy's name to the charity of your choice.

Dearest Chris. We were so very sorry to hear of Ted's passing. We loved seeing him during the summers tending to his garden at Anne and Mike's and just shooting the breeze. Please know that we are keeping you and your entire family in our thoughts and prayers.

What a kind, considerate, positive and fun loving man Ted was. He was a great friend to me and my family.
Here is hoping there is bull riding and the Doors playing between sets of the OSU Marching Band in his life ever lasting.
We love you man.
