Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sidney M. Waid on March 27, 2025, at the age of 77. He passed away in his beloved home at Hidden Lake where he had lived for over 35 years. Sid was born on April 10th, 1947 in Gardner, MA to Rose and Lee Waid. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1965 and went on to join the US Air Force. He served on the 310th Special Operations Squadron in the Vietnam War as a Flight Sergeant and Aircraft Load Master from 1966-1970. During this time he received five Air Medals. Sid worked a variety of jobs throughout the years, primarily in the food service industry. In later years he found a passion for recycling and content removal with his business Remove it Hauling. He was a lifelong fan of all New England sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox. On a hot summer's day, Sid could be found down by the pool or taking a dip in the lake. Sid was known in his community for always having a smile on his face, a good story to share and his generosity to help out where he could. He is survived by his children, son Tom Waid; daughter Devin Roesch and husband Dave Roesch; daughter Emily Ettl; grandchildren Ryder and Miles Roesch; brother David Waid; nephew Derek Waid; niece Cait Waid. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Waid and Rose Waid. A visitation celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home 1177 W 5th Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43212 from 4-6 pm.
