Obituary

Sharon Elaine Bierie Agriesti, born on 21 May 1945 in Ashland, Ohio, peacefully went to be with the Lord at 9:27 a.m. on 26 January 2025 at the age of 79. Sharon left this world surrounded by her family, pastor, and the dedicated staff of the OSU Ross Heart Hospital, who cared for her so lovingly. The lovely Sharon was the most wonderful person who had ever lived in Columbus, Ohio. Sharon spent most of her youth on a farm in Beallsville, Ohio, where one of her chores involved bringing cows to the barn for milking. She graduated from Beallsville High School in 1963. Sharon saw early success as the owner and manager of Hill’s Dairy Cream in Orient, Ohio. After moving to Columbus, Sharon spent much of her professional career at The Ohio State University Hospitals and the College of Medicine. After retiring from the university, she became a popcorn enthusiast at Al’s Delicious Popcorn, where she made a name for herself for her warmth and personality. Sharon devoted 57 years to serving at Calvary Apostolic Church in Westerville, Ohio. For the last several years, she has hosted a New Year’s Eve dinner for the church’s widowed ladies. Sharon was outgoing, gave openly to others, and brought the best Texas sheet cake and cheesy potatoes to church functions. Her loving kindness towards everyone made her a true example of a godly woman. After raising two loving children, Sharon later married the love of her life on 23 November 1991. Sharon was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Anna Mae Pool Bierie and Paul Edward Bierie, and her brother, Walter Kemp. Sharon is survived by her sister, Kay (John) Curtis, and sister-in-law Sally Kemp; her loving husband, David Agriesti; her son, Scott (Cara) Ferguson and daughter, Robin (Michael) Banyasz; her grandchildren Brooke, Elijah (Ashley), Michael, Matt, and great-grandson Elisha. Another great-grandson is expected in May. Visitation will be on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 6-8 pm and Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10-11 am at Calvary Apostolic Church, 2551 West Schrock Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. James A. Stark, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 1 February 2025. Interment will immediately follow at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 West Broad Street, Galloway, Ohio 43119. To leave a condolence please visit www.johnquint.com.

My dear Mr. Agriesti,

I'm deeply sorry to hear this sad news about your lovely wife, Sharon. It sounds like she had such a beautiful spirit - and a knack for making a wicked good Texas sheet cake. I'm sorry I did not have the honor of meeting her. I'll light a candle for Sharon and for you and the rest of her family. Sending you thoughts of peace and light.
