Obituary

Salvatore A.Troiano, Sr. (Sam) passed away on February 4, 2022 at the age of 85. He was born on August 6, 1936. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Guido and Ernesta (Lombardi) Troiano, brothers Guido (Jr), Dominic and Raymond, Johnny; sisters Josephine and Eda; Brothers in Law Barry Woods and Donnie Woods; Grandchildren Stacy Daniels and Stephanie Daniels. Sam is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Donna, children, Debbie Daniels (Tim Faatz), Salvatore (Sam) Jr. (Kendy), Lynda Killilea (Joe); Grandchildren JT Troiano, Salvatore (Tony) Troiano III (Kelly), Ashley Hibbard (Aaron), Joey Killillea (Shelly), and Kari Payne (Greg), several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Sam worked for the City of Grandview Heights for 55 years before retiring 10 years ago. During the time he worked at Grandview most of that time was served as the Service Director for the City. He loved his family and was a dedicated husband, dad, and grandfather. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. The family will receive friends at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W 5th Avenue on Thursday February 10, 2022, 4-7 pm. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday February 11, 2022 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 584 W. Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215. Procession and Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO MEET AT THE CHURCH for Funeral. I had the pleasure of working alongside Sam when I was Police Chief at GHPD for 2004-2011. What a gracious and hardworking man that always was a joy to be around. His smile was contagious. May God be with his family at the difficult time and may he rest in peace, job well done.
