Obituary
Rose Ann Compton age 81, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 22, 2025. She was born on June 7, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio and she lived in Columbus all of her life in Victorian Village area. Roseann worked in the Dry-Cleaning Industry as a District Manager later to become the V.P. of Operations for the company. She was often called "the best in the business." She enjoyed many vacations to Miami, Florida where her mother had lived for over 20 years. Roseann loved fun in the sun (poolside and beaches). She also loved her many trips to Las Vegas. Roseann loved spending time with family and friends, and she was the "life of the party." She enjoyed music and dancing especially the oldies like Fats Domino's On Blueberry Hill, which was her favorite song. Roseann was loved by everyone, and she had the biggest heart. She was always there for anyone who needed her; whatever and whenever they needed. Family was everything to her and she loved nothing more, and she will be dearly missed. Roseann was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Mildred (Eastman) Dauer; and sisters, Sherry Lorraine, Karen Jean, and Joanne. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Marvin "Eddie" Compton; daughters, Peggy (Renee) Compton and Misty (Jon) Adolph; son, Christopher (Anne) Compton; brother, Jerry (Sue) Dauer; grandchildren, Clinton, Lauren, Meagan, Eddie, Rose and Lily; and many other nieces and nephews and cousins. The family will have a visitation on Friday, March 28, 2025 at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W 5th Ave Columbus, Ohio 43212 from 4-7 pm. There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Union Cemetery 3349 Olentangy River Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43202 at 10 am.

I had the pleasure of working with her and she was "the best in the business". Her humor, work ethic, knowledge of the dry cleaning business and kindness made my my time there a good experience. She was a bright spot there for sure! Her memory is a blessing.

I have so many "mom" stories of this wonderful woman. Rose was one of the moms of the neighborhood who were determined to keep of group of young girls in check......
God bless them for saving us from ourselves!
Rose was someone I looked up to as a young girl.
Thru all my years Rose was a role model for any girl wanting more out of her life.
Thank you Rose.

Sending our deepest condolences and sympathy for your loss. I always remember as a teenager and into adulthood stopping by the Compton's, it also seem to be the thing to do, and never once I felt unwelcome, I also remember the last time Carla and I saw her and Eddie, and how it felt so right being on the front porch and spending time with them, surly had no idea it would be the last time. I also thought she was such an beautiful lady inside and out. RIP always Rose and thanks for the memories!!!
