I can tell you we all loved Ron and looked forward to him coming to Florida. He was a member of our little family. I have known Ronnie at least 30 years and highly respected him for the man I know you could depend on him for anything. I hope we were the same for him. He was funny, loved sports, kind and a stand up guy. We will truly miss Ron always and remember his kindness to all.
We loved you Ron
Judy, Bud, and ALL of his “family” from Florida

I’m deeply saddened by Ron’s passing. He was so helpful to my career at NCR in so many ways. Getting me out of shipping problems, yanking me off the mound when I couldn’t get the softball over the plate, always with a laugh and a story to brighten my day-
I will miss “E” and his constant calling me “bad to the bone”.

Met "E-BOB" when I worked at NCR and continued after I retired. He was always the most upbeat, positive and helpful person to work with or attend a golf outing. Truly he will be missed by anyone that had the pleasure of meeting him.

My husband, Ollie and I, worked with Ron in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Ron was such a pleasure to work with and we both remember him fondly. I was a newly minted college grad and Ron always helped me when I needed a favor, a listening ear and a good laugh. He also always ordered the pens I loved and set them aside for me. 😊 I’m so sorry for your loss.

Memories of Ron Elliott:
Ron was a good friend, maybe the best friend I had. We met shortly after I moved to the Grandview school district, and continued the friendship for many years after we completed our time at Grandview. I went close to his home on my way to school and would stop and encourage him to get going or we would be late. He was always late to everything he attended. Ron made a brief attempt to exercise his considerable basketball skills in college but discovered college life had too many disciplines for his free spirit.

After a brief trip to California Ron returned to Grandview and woke me up one night to tell me he was back, and looking for work. I was working at NCR in Columbus and introduced him to an opportunity there. He took to it like a duck to water. Working mostly with the logistics of the Columbus office. He soon became a very good friend to everyone there. He even organized an industrial league basketball team that many participated on. I was always jealous of his skill at the game. I was always a bit clumsy on the court. Since we both worked from the same office I tried to get to work with him many times but his last minute nature was contrary to my desires to be early, and I had to give that up.

Nothing compares to his ability to down Pabst Blue Ribbon. Half a case was just a good start. For me after two bottles I was asleep under the table. One very vivid memory was drinking at a Columbus west side watering hole. I had more than two and was in no way able to drive home. At the time I was the proud owner of a new Corvette. Ron convinced me he could drive the Corvette and I could drive his 1956 Ford home. I have no idea what he did the rest of the night in the Corvette but the odometer jumped a lot.

After several years working together in Columbus, we parted ways as I transferred to Dayton Ohio and Ron stayed in Columbus. After many years of intermittent contact he called me one day and invited me to join him and several other Columbus NCR people in a golf outing in New Albany. Great fun to rejoin the NCR people and get a golf lesson from Ron.

There are many more exciting events in our joint times, but they will just be my memories to ponder and review. I will miss my dear friend but will always have the memories.
