Richard "HOBO" Di Pietro, passed to be with the Lord on December 19, 2009. Upon graduation from St. Thomas Aquinas High School he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and then later enlisted in the US Army. He was the owner of Di Pietro Pizza Supply. Member of many clubs including the GAC-Guild Athletic Club where he had many life long friends. He was especially proud of his membership in the Flytown Club, because he was a "Delaware Avenue" kid. Survived by his loving wife Molly, daughters Ricki Di Pietro, Val Di Pietro and Renata (Lance) Thompson, grandson Richard "Little Rich" Thompson, brother Joe (Brenda) Di Pietro, sister Renetta Bernabei and sister-in-Law Linda Di Pietro. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, special friends Diana Lancaster and Pat Burke and many loving members of the Di Pietro, Cesta, Casino and Bernabei families. The family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to the caring Doctors and Nurses of the OSU Ross Heart Hospital and a special thank you to Joanne Homan and staff at the OSU Cardiac Rehab Program. Our deepest sympathy to all of you during this very difficult time. It was truly a joy and pleasure working with Dick throughout his cardiac rehab process. Dick put a smile on everyone's face as he came in for his routine exercise and inspired many to keep up the healthy habit. We will sure miss having him here and talking OSU sports with him while he walked on the treadmill. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Richard's passing. He was such a great man, and I was so glad I got to see him (and all of you) at Madeline's first communion. I have so many fond memories of growing up with Missy and hanging out with Fred and Linda and the extended DiPietro family. Uncle Richard always made me feel welcome and a part of the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Family,
It has been such a pleasure to be a part of your lives since birth. We know in our hearts because of our history together that we did not waste one minute celebrating life with you. The many parties, great food and laughter will be remembered with our adored Uncle Richie through stories and pictures.
We have truly been blessed with such a long rich life for all. Some will never experience the joy and love that we know and treasure.
Uncle Richie has gone to heaven to continue his spiritual journey. We are left to go on as we know it here on earth. So in honour of Uncle Richie let's come together with another great meal and tip our glasses making new memories. That is how he would want it.
We Love You All,
The Casino's

So sorry to hear about Richie. I enjoyed all of the love the DiPietro family brought to the ODC basketball program. He was a great father and a one of the best parents(along with you Mollie) that we ever had in the program. I am sorry that I can not be with you today to pay my respects to one of the best.
Love to all of you.

My condolences on the loss of Richard, and my thoughts are with you at this special Season of the year. I lost my husband in June and I know this is a difficult time. Richie (as I knew of him) would have probably known my husband as Genie. He grew up with the DiPietro brothers and talked of Freddie and Richie so much, as well as their parents. I'm sure they are having a huge reunion in Heaven and recalling their years on Delaware Ave. in Flytown. We must know they are in a happier place. God bless you all.
