the school is spelled Capital University, not Capitol.

Everything else looks good, although I have never heard of "inurment". -- but I looked it up and found it. It means to put into an urn. The dictionary spelled it inurement. But who knows?

We are extremely saddened by the sudden loss of our cousin, Richie. I have so many fond memories of years ago, spending those long nights at Aunt Delores and Uncle Richie's house while they played cards with Mom and Dad. Richie Jr. would entertain all of us kids with his piano playing along with telling spooky stories. We had some great times together and I wish my husband and children could have experienced those memories with me.

I cannot begin to imagine the devastation all of you must be going through. We pray that the Lord will heal your heart and be your strength during this difficult time. It is so wonderful that you have such a big family - you can now draw on the love that all of you share to help you through these difficult moments.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. The Lord Bless and keep you. And I know that Richie is now in the presence of the Lord. May this be your peace.

Although there is little that can ease a loss like this, you all should know, as I'm sure you do, that Rich was truly a remarkable man. He brought the joy of discovery, of acceptance and hope, and showed the fun that could be found in everyday life to so many people. Amidst all the sarcasm of the modern world, life always felt good and REAL and possible when Rich was around. We have all been blessed by your father, your son, your brother - and moarn his passing with you, though we will carry him with us closely in memory.

Rich touched the lives of so many people, including mine and my family. A truly humble man who was wise beyond this time on our eath, I am indebted to him for so many things. He taught me about life. He taught me pedagogy techniques. He taught me how to think about video. He taught me new ways to engage with our culture.

While we spent many days together in Derby Hall on the OSU campus, my most favorite memories of Rich are from Vancouver, British Columbia. The summer of 1996 brought us out to mountains of the Pacific Northwest for camping, hiking, and generally communing. It was a wonderful time that will be cherished forever - I might never have visited that part of the country if not for Rich's drive to better understand the process of making video.

Rich has passed from this life far too early, but we will keep his approach to life in our hearts always. To quote from one of his favorite TV shows, "the truth is out there."

I am sorry for your loss.

Rich and I were graduate students together. I am so sorry to hear of his death. We had many wonderful experiences together, hiking in the woods near his "country home," parties at the farmhouse before it was torn down, parties where the OSU band he was in played, and great conversations about all sorts of things. He was a renaissance man, bright, loving, and funny. He lived life brightly, fully. I'll never forget him and will miss knowing he is around. The world is a little dimmer without him in it.

Rich was an amazing person who had an impact on everyone he met. As a fellow student in the Communication program and a member of Akademic Distortion, I spent many hours in Rich’s company. Rich’s intelligence, wit and candor — and especially his generosity of spirit — will always stand out in my memory. May your memories of Rich always be of your best moments together.

Fittingly, I can't make the trip to Ohio to pay my last respects because my band has a show Friday night. Rich taught me a lot about playing in a band, and I'll be thinking of him all evening.
