Obituary
Primo A. Primavera, age 69, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at OSU Wexner Medical Center. A graduate of Thomas Worthington High School, he attended The Ohio State University and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He proudly served as a helicopter pilot and retired after 20 years of service with the Ohio National Guard. Primo was a successful home inspector and independent contractor, owning multiple businesses throughout his career. He is preceded in death by parents Vincent R. Primavera and Norda (Taylor) Primavera, father-in-law Clarence Gay, and brother-in-law Jim Gay. Survived by his beloved wife Michelle (Gay), children Katelyn and Nick, cousin Nick (Vicki) Primavera, mother-in-law Marge Gay, sister-in-law Debbie (Bruce) Williams and their sons Chris and Tyler (Leslie). Primo was most proud of spending time with his family, his wife of nearly 40 years, two children, and his many beloved four-legged pals. He spent most of his free time cooking favorite family recipes, attending Blue Jackets games, and tinkering with all things mechanical and woodworking. He loved using his skillset when volunteering with the Woodworkers of Central Ohio (WOCO) especially with the Termites group. Primo considered himself semi-retired but was available to anyone in need. Always the entertainer, he brought light to so many with his antics and advice. Though sadly missed, his memory will live on in his family and friends that were lucky enough to know him.

Primo has been an extension of my Dad for as long as I can remember. Always offering a hug, a smile, or a laugh Primo made the world a little lighter and brighter everywhere he went. He and my Dad had a long lasting friendship and that is a once in a lifetime friendship. They spoke everyday, they checked in, and looked out for each other. I’m so glad to know my Dad and Primo had the time that they did. We will miss his kindness and his devoted spirit. Lots of love and prayers to you during this difficult time. Your memories will carry you through. ♥️ Love Jeff and April (Burke)

Dear Miki, Katelyn, Nick and his furry loved ones,
To say that the brightest light has left this world is a huge understatement. No one who ever met Primo would ever forget him. His kindness, devotion, energy, compassion, humor, passion for life, expertise were unparalleled. To know that he is with his beloved father, Vince who he loved and respected to the highest level is a comfort. I have no doubt that he will be a guardian angel for you all forever. We are with you in your grief and wish you comfort and strength in the coming days and months.
I am so sorry that I won’t be able to attend his funeral. We will be there in spirit. Sending love and hugs.

We are so very sorry to hear of Primo's passing. Shocked is the word that first came to each of us. Primo served his country proudly and we cannot thank each of you enough for loaning your husband and father for all the country's benefit. Primo made us all laugh. I can still see him walking around in our family room doing his best gorilla impressions. Hilarious. We all loved how much he helped our household. Coming over if we were locked out of our house, fixing doors coming off their hinges. We still use his " toothpick " trick! He was just a very giving person. To his country, his family, his friends and his community. Its times like this when we realize how precious our time on earth .and how we should make more time with friends who we have known and cherished but who we have lost time with. Always thinking there will be more time until there isn't. Miki, Katelyn and Nick you are all in our prayers. Thank you and God bless you and keep you close in His grasp. Love Jackie and Laird

We met Primo through a close mutual friend. Primo was the happiest person in the world!! He displayed energy, laughter and a captivating smile. Primo was always there to say a kind word, make us laugh, and support us in times of difficulty. In 5 years we were always in touch, he always checked on us and how the children were. We already miss and will always miss him because he was such a special person. His love for his beautiful dogs was so heartwarming. Our family sends warm hugs to Primo's family. We hope that you stay strong during this difficult time and we are always here to help.
With much love. The Voloketen Family.

"Primo" in Italian primarily means "first" or "primary," and can also imply "best". The last time that I talked with Primo was on Monday, February 2nd at about 10:30 AM. Primo called to tell me he was on his way to meet a prospective tenant of mine in Victorian Village and would be running late. That was Primo. Always showing up to help people. Always considerate of others. Usually trying to do more things in a day than was humanly possible. I will always treasure my 44+ years friendship with Primo. Michelle, Katelyn and Nicky you were blessed to be the most important part of his life. I feel sorry for anyone who never had an opportunity to meet Primo. There's no doubt in my mind that Primo lived up to his name in so many ways.

Mikki, our hearts go out to you and the kids from such a loss. He is not a man to easily forget and we certainly won’t. We have many wonderful memories of travels, playing cards and sitting in stadiums and bleachers watching Nick and Chad with you and Primo. He was a hardworking man with a lot of love in his heart. Peace and love to all of you.

Years ago, I served in the Ohio Army National Guard with Primo, an energetic soldier and Army Aviator who made a lasting impression. A dedicated and cheerful team player, he volunteered for many flight missions and difficult projects, but his signature mark was his larger-than-life animated presence. I was honored to stand with him at his wedding to Mikki. At my own wedding, the ever generous Primo gifted us with a hand crafted 'Wishing Well' that has been a treasured possession in our home for nearly 40 years, was used at my two daughter's weddings, and has become a family heirloom. We were fortunate to serve with a man of Primo's caliber and are thankful for his many contributions to our country, state and community, but mostly for his friendship. It was an honor to serve with him. Suzie and I send our heartfelt condolences to Mikki and his family. His memory will bring always bring a smile and he will be missed.

The world lost a special person in Primo. Always first in line to help and never found without something funny to bring to the conversation. He loved his family ferociously and they were what he held most dear. We talked almost daily and I am better for it. All of my kids knew Primo was the one to call if they couldn’t get ahold of me. He once was in my home when one of my daughters, several girlfriends and some boys were hanging out. He walked in with a straight face, looked at the boys with a stern look and announced “I’ve been to jail before and I’m not afraid to go again” the boys looked genuinely scared until my girls started laughing. He soon was telling jokes, had the chainsaw fired up and everyone laughing. (IYKYK).
When we last talked the conversation covered shared thoughts about our amazing kids and finished with how to best make spaghetti sauce and Stromboli. I have picked up the phone a dozen times to call him since we lost him.
I am sad and miss him terribly. I have many memories and will forever look to them to comfort me in the coming days, weeks, and years. Rest in peace dear friend…you truly gave more than you took and we are all better for having know you.

My Uncle Primo will forever be remembered as a caring, endearing and fun loving man. He built my childhood swing set and was always very handy, helping everyone in my family. I will miss his conversations, euchre games, and chicken parms. I believe he has a place in the Lord's heavenly mansions, and I look forward to seeing him again. Memory eternal.

Certainly, all who knew him will miss him. His skill with all things mechanical and folks he knew always made him fun to be around. May God wrap his loving arms around Primo and give him peace. He has flown West.
