Peggy Lu Mullins, 77, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026. Born on August 31, 1948, to the late William "Bill" Akers and Doris "Doe" Akers of Fayetteville, West Virginia, Peggy was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose steady presence touched all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Nathan Anthony Mullins.Peggy is survived by her daughter, Lee Pittman-Robinette; her grandson, Sam Pittman; her granddaughter, Emma Pittman; Lee's partner, John Kessler, of Columbus, Ohio; and John's sons, Jack and Joe Kessler. She is also survived by her sister, Jane O'Leary and her husband, Barry; her brother, Mark Akers and his wife, Jay; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Peggy spent much of her life in Fayetteville, West Virginia, where she built lasting friendships and cherished memories. In recent years, she moved to Huntington, West Virginia, to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren, and later followed her daughter to Columbus, Ohio, where she enjoyed going for drives, trying new restaurants, and trips to Littleton's Market for fresh sourdough bread. Above all else, Peggy loved her grandchildren deeply and was tremendously proud of them. She delighted in every moment spent with Sam and Emma, and her face would light up whenever she talked about them. Peggy will be remembered for her devotion to family and the joy she found in simple moments with those she loved most. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral Services will be conducted in the New River Gorge Funeral Service Chapel Tuesday July 14, 2026 at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside rites will follow the funeral at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.
