Carol, From myself and my membership, may I offer you and your family our most heartfelt thoughts and prayers regarding the passing of your father. The handful of times that I met him he struck me as a really unique and cool guy. His (your) ribs not only feed my belly but also bring a big "smile" to the rest of me! I'll bet I'm not the only one. This by itself is a pretty darn good legacy to leave the world for a mans life's work. Any time we've been out to Bolton,I know I can say that you've (via his labors) done a great job of feeding our people. R.I.P.,JP-I'll bet he's got a new gig cooking upstairs. Our Best to you and yours. Roger Wright Franklin Co. Co-ordinator ABATE of Ohio Inc.

Carol,
So, so sorry to hear about your dad, but knowing you, he had to be a fabulous person. He will be remembered in my rosary this evening.
The lord is my sheperd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, thought I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they confort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoit my forhead with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord FOREVER.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love you,
Teresa & Chuck

My dear Makar family, I want you to know I knew this man for 50 years.....YES, 50 years...met him as a teenage on my way to a drive-in movie and got some coney dogs at his shop on Main St....later, we became poker buddies. The still later, we became very, very dear friends.
This man came to my Father's house, Joe Asmo, when my Mother died and brought ribs and food for everyone and really lightened our hearts during a time of mouring.
This man had a hear tbigger than himself.
My Father loved him, my brothers loved him, many people loved him and I loved him and still do.
I am certain that one day when we all reunite in heaven above I will again spend some time, lots of time, with JP!!!
In all of my years of playing poker, and that is now 61 years, I have never met a nicer, more genuine, and more down to earth man than JP!!!
God bless JP Makar and may his soul and all the souls of our dearly departed Rest In Peace,
AMEN!!!
Louis J. Asmo
