He was appointed by Mayor Michael Coleman to the Downtown Development Commission. Paul was chairman of both the Victorian Village Commission and Friends of Goodale Park. He was a leader in the Victorian Village Society and a founder of 1000 Friends with Rich Sensenbrenner, one of his favorite elected officials, to promote new urbanism development within Columbus. I thought the newspaper announcement was a wonderful tribute to Paul. I worked with Paul at DesignGroup and respected his straightforward thinking and viewed him as a talented profession. I hope that your cherished memories of Paul will help ease the sorrow within your heart. Even as an acquaintence, I feel your loss.

Dear Bruce:

Kaethe and I read with sadness about Paul's death in the newspaper today. Both of you have been such great examples of community support and we want to let you know of our appreciation for that.

I remember Paul mostly through our work together on the Victorian Village Society traffic effort. Paul always maintained high standards for whatever we did and had the knowledge and ability to bring that dialog to the city administration. We are grateful for all that he (and you) have offered to the community.

Sincerely, Pete and Kaethe

Paul inspired me to go further and look deeper into my talents as a landscape archtiect. We worked together on many projects while at Design Group; always with alot of excitement, sometimes with a little "frustration". Paul balanced the practical and creative sides of our art so well. The joy I experienced while working with Paul will continue to inspire me. I am so grateful to him for sharing his talent and for appreciating mine. I am so grateful that he shared his humor and his sense of adventure. He made me laugh and I loved him for it.

I heard the terrible news on Friday. I've been traveling in Asia for the past couple of years, but still keep in touch w/a lot of the Columbus gang.

I know much Paul meant to you. I've had my share of losses, so I know what you're going through. The pain will never go away, but with time it will lessen. My thoughts are with you.

Hi Bruce:
I'm not sure if you remember me but Jan Tremaine brought me to one of your parties a few years ago. I also used to work with Jan Solari on your ads for the Stonewall paper.
I'm very sorry that Paul was so sick for so long. I'm sure that over time, you will feel better and will remember him with caring and love.
