Obituary
Nicky Al Pelgrino, age 83, died Saturday July 18, 2009 at Arlington Court Nursing and Rehab Center. Member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Retired from General Motors, Fisher Body, as an electrician for 34 years. Member of United Auto Workers, Local 969. Member of Germania Club, German Village. Veteran WWII, U.S. Navy. Preceded in death by parents Joe and Lena Pellegrino, brother Dominic Pellegrino, and grandson JoJo Stattmiller. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Helen: children, Joe (Alane) Pelgrino, Nancy (Bob) Pfahler, Susan (Joe) Stattmiller: grandchildren, Alexa and Nicolette Pelgrino, Leah Schoen; sister, Mary DeGiralomo; many nieces and nephews. Caregiver for a brief time, Kenny Fawbush. Special friend, John Fortin. The family would like to thank Arlington Court Nursing and Rehab Center for the great care given to Nick, along with Homereach Hospice Ohio Health. Friends may call TUESDAY July 21, 2009 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM on WEDNESDAY July 22, 2009 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1420 Grandview Avenue, Msgr. John K. Cody, Presider. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Nicky to the Ohio Health Foundation (HomeReach Hospice), 180 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Dear Sue, Nancy, and Pelgrino Family,
Please know that I am thinking about all of you today. I am out of town but Steve informed me of Mr. Pelgrino's passing. Our love and prayers to each of you. Nancy and Sue, all through high school and beyond I have thought the world of you two. When I think of our Ready days, and Sue with our OU field trips, it makes me smile. Mr. Pelgrino must have been some great dad to have two terrific daughters like you. Sadly, I am thinking of Jo Jo today as well--reunited with his grandpa. Life is so hard and thank God we all have each other to get through it. Please extend my hello to Joe Stattmiller too.
