Obituary

Nancy Rebecca (Becky) Meeks-Weed, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Becky was born on November 9, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, to Goldie and Charles Meeks, who preceded her in death. She lived her entire life in Columbus. She is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, Dennis Weed- the love of her life; her sister, Cassie (Dana) Gamble; nephew, Dr. Justin (Brandy) Gamble; niece, Taryn (Caleb) Nickell; grandnieces, Madison and Kenzie Gamble; and grandnephew, Caleb Nickell. Becky worked at The Ohio State University in the Department of Family Medicine for 33 years, where she made many lifelong friends. Before she was married, Becky moved in with her mother, Goldie, to keep her company. They did everything together and shared a bond deeper than mother and daughter. When Goldie’s health declined, Becky visited her daily at First Community Village and built close relationships with the caregivers there. Even after her mother’s passing, Becky continued to volunteer at the facility, demonstrating her boundless kindness and compassion. She was a passionate gardener, particularly fond of potted plants. As a music lover, Becky had an impressive collection of albums and CDs. She also loved cooking and preparing food- especially at family gatherings where she was known for making animals out of vegetables. As a huge animal lover, Becky had a special place in her heart for cats. She rescued several over the years, treating them as her babies. Becky will be deeply missed. She is now reunited with her family and the many dogs and cats she loved throughout her life. There will be a Visitation on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43212 from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:30 pm officiated by Father Vincent Nguyen. A procession to Union Cemetery 3349 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43202 will follow for Graveside Committal Service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cat Welfare Association at the following link: https//catwelfareassoc.org (link below) or the charity of your choice.

Everyone, dear Becky was my great friend with the biggest heart and her love for me and my family, and my pets. She was always a cheerleader of life for me and I miss you so much already. Love to all, Dennis, don't be a stranger.
