Obituary

Molly (Cesta) Di Pietro, passed to be with the Lord on November 5, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the owner of Molly's Market located in Flytown. Later in life she was the Cafeteria Manager at Bishop Watterson High School. She then went on to help establish Di Pietro Pizza Supply. Molly enjoyed attending all family activities. She was an avid gardener and greatly enjoyed her yard. Molly's main focus was cooking and celebrating with her family, especially Thanksgiving dinner. If you were ever in need of spaghetti sauce, meatballs, or Italian Wedding Soup, Molly was eager to provide the nourishment. Molly happily accepted and relished an active role in the lives of all surviving descendants of the expansive Cesta and Di Pietro families. Molly was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Richard Guy Di Pietro. She is survived by daughters; Ricki Di Pietro, Val (Diana) Di Pietro, and Renata (Lance) Thompson, Grandson; Richard (Gretchen) Thompson, Great-Grandsons; Liam Pierson and our newest addition Guy Blazer Thompson who greatly enriched her life for the past two years. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be held at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W 5th Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43212 on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 4:30 - 7:30 pm. I truly enjoyed your smile and sense of humor. When, my daughter was born, and at family gatherings you held her the whole time. And you always wanted to know how she was doing. I will miss our times together in the Summer at your house and winter at my sister's house. Great memories.

In high school, when I knew I was going to get in trouble with my parents, I always went to Molly first to confess what I did and to get her opinion on how bad my punishment would be. Sometimes, she had a head's up from info she received as manager of the Watterson cafeteria. She always gave me the courage to face whatever lay ahead. I've always loved her for that. And for the years of friendship ever since. You were such a super cool mom. God bless you, Molly.

Molly was one of the greatest women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She reminded me so much of my late grandmother and was always just so incredibly welcoming and always had a funny zinger here and there. The DiPietro family has always welcomed us with open arms in which we are incredibly grateful and we send so much love, strength and prayers to all of you. We are so very lucky to have been able to know and love her.

I deeply loved Aunt Molly, and I know she deeply loved me. She nicknamed me as Mody. She was my defender from childhood into adulthood. I miss her very much.
