Obituary

Michael Louis Salamony, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2022, at his home in Stuart, Florida, surrounded by his four children. He was born September 19, 1936, to the late Philip and Lillian (Klosterman). He is preceeded in death by his wife of 53 years, Joan Salamony, and his stepfather, Ray Nadalin. Mike is survived by his children Michele (Harold) McClaine; Joseph (Leslie) Salamony; Marie Salamony, Melisa Salamony, and close friend Diane Casino. He was the well-loved Pepaw to Heather (Anthony) Sowers; Hayley (Ryan) Bush; Hal McClaine; Vincent, Jaclyn and Maria Salamony; Cameron (Kitti) Fulling; and Collin Fulling. Great grandchildren, Adele and Vivian Bush, and Lucas Fulling. He was also adored by his sister-in-law Phyllis Pontius and her children Jeff (Katie) Pontius and Laura Pontius. He is also survived by many close friends who enriched his life. Mike graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas, where many of his stories of orneriness originated (we should note this trait continued throughout his life). He owned several businesses including The Depot and Shack by the Track. His true passion was construction and he owned Columbus Construction until his 80ss. Mike didn't know a stranger. As his kids and grandkids, everywhere we go we meet someone who knew "MikeSal" (and inevitably had a colorful story to tell). All those stories will be welcomed on March 22, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W. Fifth Ave., Columbus, OH. Rosary at 6:30pm. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on March 23, 2022, at St. Patrick's Church, 280 Grant Ave., Friends and family are asked to meet at the church. Private interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery immediately following. The family will welcome friends and family at Mike's Happy Hour on March 23, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at 5082 Breckenhurst Dr. Hilliard, OH 43026. Condolences may be sent to www.johnquint.com. We've enjoyed Mike and his family for about 30 years as his neighbor. We've shared beer, wine, tomatoes and anything he would eat from our garden. Even his golf cart to take brush to the burn pile. We will miss his smile and laughter. He was the neighborhood spy who would drive his golf cart around the property to see what or if we were doing anything. Specially in the garden. We will miss him. What a great man God has received.
Love to all
