Obituary

Mary Brahos, age 90, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Mount Carmel West Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Member of the Daughters of Penelope and St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Preceded in death by her husband, James Brahos; sisters, Jane (Pericles) Pakes, Dena (Dr. George) Rapton; son, Timothy Brahos; brother-in-law, Sophocles Pancol. Survived by her son, Dr. George J. (Deborah) Brahos; grandchildren, Mary and Christina Brahos; sister, Stella Pancol; sister-in-law, Georgia (Brahos) Kavadias; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call FRIDAY, April 3, 2009, at THE BURNS-KISH FUNERAL HOME, 8415 Calumet Avenue, Munster, Indiana, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., where the Trisagion Service will be entoned at 5:00 p.m. Her funeral liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m., on SATURDAY, April 4, 2009, at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 7021 Hohman Avenue, Hammond, Indiana, with the Reverend Father David G. Bissias, Presiding. Burial, Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Mary to Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
