Obituary

Martha Hager Berlin, age 90 of Columbus, Ohio passed away on December 6, 2025. She was born at home on October 19, 1935 to the late Harry and Hildred (Orr) Hager. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice Bevan and Mary Thomas. She was a proud graduate of Grandview Heights High School class of 1953 and the Ohio State University, she retired after teaching 25 years in Columbus Public Schools. She loved growing up in Grandview and even in her last months could recall the old cheers from her high school cheerleading days. After retirement she enjoyed trips to the casino and always looked forward to receiving the GHHS Alumni Newsletter. Her biggest joy in life was her family, and she would never say no to a grandchild. She was a woman of faith, and her dad is probably telling her now "Martha, make yourself useful and not ornamental." She is survived by her sister, Majorie Haines; children, Karla (Warren) Frank, Craig (DeeDee) Berlin, and Curt (Cheri) Berlin; special friend, Bill Killilea; grandchildren, Matt (Nikki) Frank, Marc (Barrett) Frank, Ryan (Courtney) Berlin, Kelly Berlin, Maddie Davis, Emmy Davis, Emma Berlin, Luke Berlin; 3 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. To honor Martha's life, donations can be made to the Grandview Heights High School Alumni Association or the charity of your choice.
