Marion Anthony Scialabba, age 94, passed peacefully in his sleep on January 5, 2026 at Sunrise of Dublin (Dublin, Ohio). Marion was born on December 8, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio to Antonino and Carmela Scialabba. He grew up in Columbus' Italian community with his parents and older brother Salvatore and younger brother Anthony. Depending on how you knew him, he was Marion or Tony or Mario as he preferred later in life. He graduated from Central High School in January 1951 and started his career at Nationwide in March 1951. He was drafted and honorably served in the United States Army as a Morse Code Operator in the Signal Corps stationed in Okinawa, Japan during the Korean War. When he told his commanding officer he didn't have a driver's license, "Uncle Sam will take care of that for you" was the response. Upon returning home, he resumed his career at Nationwide in 1954 until retiring in 1992. He didn't know it at the time, but that began a streak where a Scialabba has worked at Nationwide for 74 consecutive years (and counting). He cheered for Buckeye football and basketball. He loved golf and played several times per week in retirement. He was a member of The Elks where he would lead in the singing of "Come Share the Wine" by Al Martino every Friday night. In retirement he volunteered with Villa Angelo. Family dinners were enjoyed with a nice glass of Pinot Grigio. Affectionately known as Pap Pap, he will be remembered as a devout Catholic and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Marion is survived by Karen his wife of 55 years, two sons Mark (Lisa) and John (Kristin), and his beloved grandson Adam. He is preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers Sal (Doris) and Tony (Joanne). Visiting hours will be Thursday January 8th from 4-7pm at John Quint Treboni. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery the following day. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio which provided services to Marion and his brothers after their father died
