My memories of Marina are from DeSales High School. I am not surprised that she graduated college summa cum laude. In my mind she was the smartest person in our class, quite a looker, and very popular and friendly to everyone. In grade school I remember her grandfather, John, and all us ȁCkidsȁD were fond of him. He spoke broken English and I thought that was ȁCcoolȁD. I remember Marina’s beautiful dark banana curls in grade school, and how in high school sometimes she would twirl a strand of her hair round and round a finger. She must have been thinking because she never missed a question!. It was a shock to hear of her passing. May the Lord greet her with open arms.

I thank God for the gift of Marina in my life. At St. Francis DeSales she was my mentor and friend. The crucifix she gave me (from Italy) will always remind me of her and our friendship.
As we celebrate her life know that all of you are in my prayers.

Our deepest sympathy in your loss. Marina was always a dear friend to me and all who knew her. I enjoyed working for her at DeSales for 13 years and in that time she helped thousands of students meet their true potential. Her immense compassion for others and humble nature made everyone feel comfortable around her. God bless you all.

Marina was a great woman and I felt privileged to work in her school, Dublin Scioto. Marina was a leader. Her experience and forsight made Dublin Scioto the great school it is now. She understood, like no other administrator, that the Scioto students need different teaching styles and supports than those of the other two Dublin high schools. She worked tirelessly to provide students and teachers with what they needed to succeed. In times of crisis, in a calm, strong voice she would ask, "what can I do to help?" When she asked that one felt reassured that Marina would be able to "fix" whatever was broken. Our school will be lost without her.
She was a courageous, beautiful, smart, kind woman and we were all lucky to have her for the time that we did.
With sincere condolences,
Kim Ginther
