Obituary
Marcia Willson Bohley, age 90, passed away on February 3, 2026.
Marcia was the eldest child born to Brad and Mary Kay Willson, both of whom predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her infant son Greg and by her beloved husband, Pete, who passed away in 2019 after 60 years of marriage.
Marcia was a gifted writer and educator throughout her life. Graduating with her teaching degree on Friday and marrying her sweetheart on Saturday, she was ever gracious and aware of others as they came to celebrate these milestones. She knew the value of caring for people you love.
Marcia shared her love of learning, listening and storytelling which was shaped by her parents; her father, Brad, (a photographer and journalist) and mother Kay, (who died at age 26, when Marcia was 5 but lived on through stories and memories).
Marcia understood from an early age that everything is connected and part of a larger story of love. She made space in her writing and in her relationships to nurture this.
She wrote and told stories about family, faith and people who made a difference in the world, often in quiet ways. Her writing appeared in many publications and she helped nurture other writers and artists through her involvement in the National League of American Pen Women.
Marcia had a gift for hosting gatherings that brought everyone together. She loved opening her home to travelers and friends who became family. Her home was the heart of family life and she took great pride in creating traditions and cherished memories.
Marcia loved collecting stories about family ancestors and treasured the spirit and wisdom passed down through generations.
For more than 60 years Marcia and Pete were dedicated to the parish community at Our Lady of Victory. She used her wonderful talents to start the Children’s Liturgy ministry as well as Vacation Bible School at OLV.
Marcia is survived by her brother, Mike Willson, his wife Helen of Findlay, Ohio and his four adult children. Her greatest legacy lives on through her children and their families; son, Eric Bohley and wife Marianne, of California; daughter Beth Bohley Simmonds and husband Rick of Grandview, Kathy Bohley of Columbus and Stowe Silver of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Caitlin, Madeline, Maria, Kyle, Sam, Dempsey, Oona; and great-grandchildren; Augie, Edith, Malaika, Mabel, and Lucy.
Her memory is a blessing.
Donations in her memory can be made to J.O.I.N.

Marcia was such an amazing woman! I was able to get to know her through the National League of American Pen Women. She was a strong advocate of all the arts and a very gifted writer. It was wonderful to know her and we are all blessed by her good humor and playful spirit. She will be missed! My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and that she might find rest with our risen Lord in Heaven. God Bless!
