I am deeply sorrow to learn of Marc's passing. He served with me on several TDY assignments in DS. Marc was an agent's agent. He took his professional seriously, was well skilled in tactical operations and was someone you could count on when the going was rough. Marc took many difficult assignments in some of our most troubling spots and served with honor, courage and patriotism. Our thoughts, prayers and support to his family. May God Bless his soul.

My deepest sympathy to you for your loss. Marc and I were in the same Special Agent class at the U.S. State Department, worked together in various capacities, and remained friends over the years. Everyone liked and respected Marc as an Agent and as a regular guy. He did much for his country and those that he befriended; he will be missed but will remain in our thoughts and prayers.

The news of Marc's untimely death, which I just heard today, hit me very hard. Marc was my friend, my colleague and fellow agent, and fellow pilot. We served together in Miami and traveled the world as DSS Special Agents. Of all the things to happen to him, towing a banner, especially after he has been to most of the world's truly dangerous locations and performed missions that many would pass up. I cannot tell you how many times we "went through the door" together or how we agonized regarding how best to introduce new agents to the rigors of our profession. He watched my back countless times and yes, I always felt better if Marc was with us on the team. He was just plain one of the best in tough situtations. Besides being colleauges, both of us love to fly. I went with him to inspect, and then pick up his Skyhawk and helped him fly it home to Miami. When he went to New Orleans, I co-piloted with him again and he flew with me in my Beechcraft many times. Nothing made Marc happier than being in the sky, he was a terrific pilot. Whatever happened last week had to be some mechanical issue, because I know his flying skills were superb. It is a little comforting to know that he left us doing what he loved so much, but I will miss him greatly. He was my friend, my colleague, my copilot, one of the guys who took on all the hard missions and handled them with quiet aplomb. Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you, and you may be assured that Marc will continue to figure prominently, as he often has, in my tales of DSS agent adventures. Thanks for the opportunity to share with you. Dale Karlen

May God bless and help you and be comforted to know that Marc was an outstanding special agent and friend. Whenever I had the privledge to work a mission or protective detail with him, I knew we had the best of the best to do the job. I can only believe our Lord called Marc to heaven before us to do the advance to protect our way later and that St. Michael needed Marc to join the angel corps now. He was a great patriot.
May God love you Marc, and your loving family.

To Marc's Family,
It was with great sadness and shock that I only today learned of Marc's death. Marc was a fellow agent and friend in the Diplomatic Security Service. I served with Marc in the Miami Field Office where I greatly respected him professionally and more importantly, personally. We remained in touch after our retirements and Marc always discussed his love of flying when we had the opportunity to talk. It is sad to lose a friend so unexpectedly and my thoughts are with you in your time of great loss. Walt Deering

My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Marc's family. I am a reitred DS agent who served long before Marc came to DS, but I came back after 9/11 as a contractor and worked closely with Marc in Afghanistan. He was first class in all respects. I even contacted him after he retired to see if he would come back as a contractor. I have the utmost respect for him as a person and as an agent. A true patriot. May God Bless His Soul.

Marc and I joined Diplomatic Security (DS) in 1984 and were in the same basic agent class. We also served on the Secretary's Detail together. As we traveled the world, he was a dear friend and mentor; he really helped me as a new agent. He had an easy going way about him, a great sense of humor, and he was an outstanding special agent. Our family sends our thoughts and prayers to you at this time. God bless you.

I wish to express my family's condolences and tell you how sad we were to hear of Marc's passing. Marc and I trained together and served together in Athens and again later in Miami. In Miami we talked about flying frequently and I know he loved it and was very happy when ever he was aloft.
He was a good friend and a man of his word and I'm proud to have known him and served with him. Marc was a good Agent who served with honor, he truly was, as his DS credentials said, "Worthy of Trust and Confidence" and we are saddened by his untimely passing.
