Obituary

Luigi Alberto DiTommaso age 88 of Hilliard, Ohio went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2026. He was born on April 22, 1937, in Castel Di Sangro, Italy. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances (Checchio) DiTommaso, and his parents, Salvatore and Maria (Adelina) DiTommaso. Luigi is survived by his loving children, Mary Jo DiTommaso and Salvatore (Tess) DiTommaso; his cherished companion, Star; his treasured grandchildren, Nicole DiTommaso, Luigi DiTommaso, and Angela (Jeremy) Archer; and his sister, Leda (Claudio) Di Iorio. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Luigi was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who cherished time spent with his family and friends. He was a survivor of WWII as a child/teenager to arrive in the United States at age 18 by the assistance of his Aunt Madeline (James) Buzzelli. He became a U.S. citizen in 1959. Luigi found great joy in gardening and sharing meaningful moments with loved ones. Luigi dedicated more than 50 years of service to the Marble Cliff Quarry (Martin Marietta). He was a founding member of St. Brendan's Church and a member of the Guild Athletic Club. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Suncrest Hospice, especially his head nurse of six years, Mike, who has been a part of our family, as well as nurses Kim, Amy; and special thanks to his aide Leanna, social worker Lisa and Jonathon, and Chaplain Patricia, for their compassionate care and unwavering support. Additionally, thanks to the aides Tracey, Cynthia, and Kristy. There will be a visitation on Thursday April 30, 2026 at the John Quint Treboni FH from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held the next morning at St. Brendan the Navigator Church at 11 am.
