Obituary
Lucy Mae (Lepore) Cordetti, age 85, passed away on August 14, 2015. She was one of ten children born in the Columbus-area village of San Margherita to immigrants Raffaele Lepore and Maria Bonina Lalli from the Italian region Molise. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Josephine, Jean, Hilda, Helen, Viola and Shirley. Lucy graduated from West High School in June 1948. She wed Nick Cordetti, also of San Margherita, the following October 16th and they were married 62 years before he passed away in 2011. She will be remembered as a nurturing and quietly effective person who always put family, neighbors and friends before herself. Most considered her a culinary expert. Lucy is survived by devoted sons Nick, Jr. (Suzanne), Steven, James (Kimberly) and Ralph; grandchildren Todd, Leigh, Sam and Tony Cordetti, Stacey Fry (Seth); great-grandchildren Mason Buxton and Ruby Fry; brother Dominic (Carol) Lepore; sisters, Ann Montenaro and Gloria Lepore; many nephews, nieces and cousins in USA and Italy. Lucy's family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 4-8 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus, with visitation concluding with a Prayer Service at 8:00 p.m., with Rev. Msgr. Romano Ciotola, presiding. Graveside service 11:30 a.m., Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Joseph Cemetery with the procession leaving the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. The family would like to thank the staff and hospice unit of National Church Residences at Mill Run for the expert care they provided. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Heaven has gained an angel in her. I never met her, but I learned all about her from Steve over the years. She sounds like she was a wonderful, compassionate soul.
