Obituary

Louise Gibbs, age 85, long time resident of Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Born November 26, 1921, in Mountain Home, Arkansas and died October 2, 2007 at Westminster-Thurber Community Nursing Home, Columbus, Ohio where she was cared for by the caring staff of doctors and nurses. She retired after 30 years of teaching at Thomas Jefferson Junior High School, Fair Lawn, NJ and taught school in Paterson, NJ in the 1950s. She was a member of Van Riper Ellis-Broadway Baptist Church, Fair Lawn, NJ. She graduated from Ouachita Baptist University and Montclair State Teachers College. Louise was also an executive secretary and researcher during World War II at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. She is preceded in death by her father Andrew Louis Burns, Sr. in 1979, mother Ila Mae Martin in 1990, brother Martin Burns in 1994, and beloved husband Lowell Gibbs in February, 2007. She is survived by her daughter Carol(Frank)Stover, Chicago, IL and son Dr. John(Valerie)Gibbs, Columbus, OH; grandchildren: Jason(Marie)Summerfield, Framingham, Massachusetts; Adam Summerfield, Boston, Massachusetts, Sophia(Clay) Gibbs Kim, Rochester, NY, Stephanie(Ravi)Gibbs Kamath, Cambridge, Massachusetts; Jonathan Gibbs, Erfurt, Germany; great grandchildren Micah Kim, Maria Kim and Jordan Summerfield, sister Martha Helen Phillips, Tyler, TX, brothers: A.L. Burns, Jr., Texarkana, TX, Alvin Burns, Dallas, TX, and Ned Burns, Austin, TX. Condolences may be sent via John C.
