Obituary

Kenneth Karl Tracewell Jr. died Dec. 22, 2023, at Mill Run Health & Rehabilitation Center, in Hilliard, Ohio, following a decline caused by Parkinson’s and Lewy body dementia. Ken was retired from PhotoVac Laser Corp., and before that, a decades-long career as a master scientific glassblower at The Ohio State University glass lab, specializing in custom glassware for complex research initiatives. Ken was a natural engineer by skills and temperament, a problem-solver equally adept at car mechanics, carpentry, or home improvements. He was a quiet and generous man with many interests, including sports, movies, and motorcycle racing, and was devoted to his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 15 years, Phuong Tracewell; brothers, Michael and Scott (Jeff Ruble) and sister Nancy (Tom) Shawver; also Michi Riley, who was like a daughter to him. He is preceded in death by his dear sister Beth and parents, Margaret and Kenneth K. Tracewell Sr. Cremation service is handled by John Quint Treboni Funeral Home. A private family memorial will be conducted in California.
