Obituary

Joseph William Shea Jr. passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph William Shea Sr., and brother, Louis Rick Shea. He is survived by his mother, Mary Shea (Franchini); daughter, Nicolette Linn Shea and husband Chris, beloved grandson Declan; son, Michael Shea; sister, Anita and husband Ralph Stover; sister, Theresa Bocook and her children Sarah and Luke; niece, Kelsey and her family; nephew, Kyle, and his family; Uncle Frank; family, friends, and loved ones who will miss him dearly. Joe proudly served in the United States Army. Above all else, he profoundly loved his family. He had a laugh that could change a room's mood and a genuineness that made people feel at ease in his presence. Whether sharing a story, offering a helping hand, or simply spending time with those he loved, Joe brought warmth, humor, and authenticity wherever he went. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his unwavering love for his family, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him. A gathering will be held to celebrate his life on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home 1177 W 5 th Ave Columbus, Ohio 43212 from 2-5 pm. All are welcome to attend the visitation and the Funeral Mass will be Monday morning, June 8, 2026 at St. Josephine Bakhita Church at 11 am.
