Obituary

Joseph R. Baudo, age 77, passed away Friday, January 30, 2009
at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by his loving family,
after a long courageous battle with M.S.A. Born May 19, 1931 in
Bellaire, Ohio, graduated from St. John's Central High School
(Bellaire, OH), served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, Graduated from Bliss Business College and retired from the
Internal Revenue Service after 30 years of service. A member of
St. Timothy Catholic Church for 45 years, a Men's Club Member,
Knights of Columbus, and the Guild Athletic Club. Joe was a very
devoted husband and father to his five children. He was an avid
Buckeye fan and ushered for the OSU home games for many years.
No matter the adversity he faced, he NEVER lost his sense of
humor. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Marie
(2005), parents Joseph and Rosa Baudo, infant son Peter, brothers; Msgr. Frank Baudo, Pete and Vince. His is survived by his children Natalie (Tom) Warner, Carla (Daniel) Straub, Donna
(Barry) Chambers, Joseph (Debra) Baudo, John (Laura) Baudo, all
from the Columbus area, grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff), Brandon,
Daniel, Nicole, Courtney, Danielle (Mike), Kari, Andrew, Maria,
Brittany, Joey, Carly and Alexis, great grandchildren Lavinia,
Mason, and Evlin, his sisters Rose Rico (Cleveland, OH), Mary
Stanek (Englewood, FL) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call MONDAY, February 2, 2009 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4:00-8:00 PM with the GAC Service at 6:30 PM and a Catholic Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM on TUESDAY, February 3, 2009 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Lane, Rev. Fr. Timothy Hayes, Presider. FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO MEET AT CHURCH. Entombment will follow at the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum, 9571 North High Street, Lewis Center, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in memory of Joseph to the Central Ohio Parkinson Society, 1380 Dublin Road, PO Box 16126, Columbus, Ohio 43216. I am sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I worked with Joe for many years at the IRS. At one point in my career he and I were both managers and he shared his insights with me. Joe was a good leader and a good man.
