Johnny lived a life shaped by hard work, generosity, curiosity, and a deep passion for helping others - a true libertarian philanthropist. He carried a giving heart into every room. If you knew Johnny, you knew his bear hugs - the kind that wrapped around you and made the world feel a little less heavy. He had a rare gift for making people feel safe, understood, heard, and cared for. He was an analytical thinker and a dedicated doomsday prepper, always a few steps ahead with plans, supplies, and readiness - food, water, land, and guns. His preparation was his way of protecting the people he loved. That same sharp mind made him exceptional at his work. As a senior infrastructure engineer, he built and deployed automated systems with a level of skill that set him apart. Johnny felt most at peace outdoors. He loved wilderness skills, camping, and hiking - anything that let him rely on nature. He loved learning about other people's hobbies and interests just so he could take part in them. His own interests and hobbies were endless: 3D printing, painting, music, story-driven board games, feeding the homeless, political freedom, books, and silver and coin collecting. His desire for adventure and exploration never stopped. Johnny fell ill in January and passed away on February 8th, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, preparedness, curiosity, and love - a steady presence who cared deeply for the people in his life and his cat, Freyja. He is preceded in death by his father, John Dorn; his grandparents Booner, Mary, Nancy, and Bob; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his mother, Marguerite Mary Dorn; his sisters Samantha Manning (Rob Lyons), Chrissy Hall (Jeff Hall), and Edwina; his nieces and nephews Hailey Kingery (James Cochran), Devine Dorn (Natalie Mathers), Kenzee Hall, Sal Manning, Addy Hall, and Liam Manning; and his great-nephew and great-niece Kohen Cochran and Quinn Cochran. He made the world feel safer just by being in it, and his absence is immeasurable - but so is the impact he made on every life he touched.
