Obituary

John J. DiSabato Jr., age 88, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Our Family Home. John retired from the Columbus Dispatch after 46 years of service. He was a former member of both St. Christopher Parish and Our Lady of Peace Parish; and currently a member of Our Lady of Victory Parish. He is a member of the Flytown Club, the Dispatch Quarter Century Club and the Aquinas Alumni Association. John also was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II and the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Theresa (Benedetto) DiSabato; brothers, Mike (Binnie), Louis (Theresa); sister, Rosemary Dieli; brothers-in-law, Pete (Patricia) Dascenzo and Geno (Pauline) Bartoline; and sisters-in-law, Louise Bartoline and Dolores DiSabato. He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Bartoline) DiSabato; son Jon (Laurie) and daughter Debbie (Byron) White; grandchildren, Derek (fiance, Michelle) and Damon DiSabato, Andrew and Emily White; brothers, Bill (Rosalyn), Tony (Eleanor), Joe (Jane) and brother-in-law, Robert Dieli; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 3-7 p.m., at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, Columbus (with a Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m.). Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 1559 Roxbury Road (Marble Cliff). Rev. Msgr. Romano Ciotola, Presider. Entombment to follow, St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name are preferred either to Vitas Hospice, 655 Metro Place, Suite 770, Dublin, OH (43017) or to Our Family Home, 150 E. Broad, Ste. 800, Columbus, OH (43215).
