Obituary

John F. Abbruzzese passed away peacefully at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Anne F. Williams; stepfather, Joseph R. Williams; father, Anthony Abbruzzese; and brothers Anthony "Tony/Jr." Abbruzzese, Ralph Abbruzzese (Bobbi), and Thomas "Tom" Abbruzzese (Marci). John is survived by his cherished children, Catherine Abbruzzese, Patrick Abbruzzese, and Jill Abbruzzese (Dean K), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought joy to his life. He was a proud veteran who served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, where he held the role of Instructor. He was a graduate of Central High School and earned his degree from Bliss Business College. John was a devout member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and remained deeply involved in his community throughout his life. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2898 and formerly served as President of the original Fly Town Club. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. John will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America at the link below. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Inn at Winchester Trail for their compassionate care, and to Capital City Hospice for their exceptional support during his final days

I am so thankful for the time I had with John at the Inn. We got along so well and I always looked forward to giving him the morning paper. We talked about current events, history, and we exchanged books and talked about them. Rest in Peace Mr. John I'll miss you a lot.
