Obituary

Joe Ciamacco, of Columbus, Ohio, passed peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2023, with his loving family by his side. He was 90 years old. Born March 1, 1933 to Vincenzo and Brigida Ciamacco. Joe lived his young life on a small rural farm in Introdacqua, Italy with his four siblings, Andre, Maria, Bambina, and Agnesina, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins nearby. Hard work and perseverance were instilled in him at a young age. He passed these traits along to his children. He moved to France while gaining his masonry trade school certification, and then Halifax, Nova Scotia in his early 20's, before moving to Columbus thereafter where he met his lovely wife Italia. Joe's masonry trade led him to become one of the Founding Fathers of International Masonry, Inc. He decided to retire in his late fifties to spend more time visiting his family members in Italy. Joe loved to travel to his scenic hometown in Italy and made multiple extended summertime trips after retirement. He loved playing bocce with his Italian friends at the Abruzzi Club, enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Joe was always eager to help family and friends with home projects using his contractor/masonry skillset, he was hard working, dependable, reliable, hard charging, and self-confident. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincenzo & Brigida Ciamacco; and siblings, Andre, Maria, and Bambina. He is survived by his wife of 25+ Years, Italia Ciamacco; son, Vincent (Joy) Ciamacco of Hilliard, Ohio; daughters, DeLena Ciamacco and her fiance Jerry Clum of Westerville, Ohio and daughter Bridget Ciamacco of Pickerington, Ohio; two grandchildren, Felicia Ciamacco and Joseph (Laura) Ciamacco; three great-granddaughters, Berklee, Kambree, & Saydee Ciamacco; sister, Agnesina (Adelchi) Podrecca of Columbus, Ohio and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A visitation will be held at John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W 5th Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43212 on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 4-7 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Chapel inside Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High Street, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035 beginning at noon. I was fortunate to have met Joe 27 years ago. When I told him I was from Mansfield he told me about the Westpark shopping center he built. Later in life we had many interesting conversations in German. You will be remembered.
