Obituary
Jeanette Ciardelli Stevens born January 10, 1934 to Valente and Argia (Casa) Ciardelli from Pisa Italy. Jeanette was raised in the Flytown area of Columbus with 9 siblings who preceded her in death, Mario, Valentino, John, Carl, Sandie, Aleda, Norma, Dina and Jessie.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband Bob "The Colonel" Stevens. Jeanette and Bob built their first business as "Pickers", canvassing homes in Upper Arlington and Bexley by handing out business cards. People would call them to sell antiques and various items where they would sell in semi annual auctions.
Jeanette was talented and active throughout her life. She coached softball at Our Lady of Victory for a few years. She played in a tennis league at Urlin. She was all time quarterback for Lincoln Rd street football with her grandkids and the many neighborhood kids who adored her as she adored them. She entertained many with her self-taught instruments including piano, accordion and ukulele. She enjoyed dancing and singing to music of all types. She will be remembered most for her cooking. She could have opened up a restaurant with her pasta bolognese alone but add her specialties like fried cauliflower, fried green tomatoes and roast chicken just to name a few.
She is survived by her son, Anthony "Tony" (Betsey) Stevens; and daughter, Dina Stevens Buck; as well as grandkids, David, Jackie, Alex, Maureen and Cassidy; and she leaves behind 9 great-grandkids, Brennan, Taytum, Vinnie, Camille, Cillian, Teagan, Alden, Marianna and Kieran.
Jeanette had a zest for life. She was savvy, witty and smart. She took her time with nieces, nephews and grandkids teaching them games and just making them happy. She was one of a kind and she will be missed dearly.

Reading those words of remembrance brings back a flood of memories of this amazing woman and the joy she brought to so many of us. Aunt Jeanette was so full of energy and love for her family. When you showed up to see her, you'd better show up hungry...and you'd be glad you did. She was dancing the last time we saw her, and I bet she is dancing with The Colonel right now. Oh...where to start! She was my second mama, the only "grandma" my kids knew. She was so much a part of who I am today. The love she showed was unmeasurable to me. Days and weeks spent at her house as a kid, were like summer vacations. She was so fun, loving and always the life of the party. She gave us a love for music, food, silliness, but most of all family. I will miss her for the rest of my life here on earth. Tony and Dina, I love you as siblings. I pray that you find peace during this time, and I'm thankful for all the wonderful memories we had with Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Bob. š
