Dr. James J. Pardi, age 91, went home to the Lord on Friday, October 3, 2025. He was born on February 10, 1934, to Stella Louise and Angelo Joseph (AJ) Pardi from Our Lady of Victory Parish, Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from St. Charles Preparatory High School, he attended Xavier University and furthered his education at Loyola University Chicago, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). He met the love of his life, Janice Breckel, while in school and married her on May 19, 1960. He served in the United States Army in the Dental Corp while stationed at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. He opened his dental practice in Worthington, Ohio where he practiced dentistry for fifty-two years building relationships with his patients that often-spanned multiple generations within families. Jim was an active member of St. Timothy Catholic Church for decades. He volunteered and chaired many parish events including the Men's Club, the yearly festival, the spaghetti dinner, and the annual golf outing. One of his greatest loves was spending time at the cabin on Lake Erie where he enjoyed fishing with Jan, playing Scrabble and cards, and visiting with family and friends. He also took delight in gardening, often sharing with neighbors and friends the fruits of his labor, collecting model trains, and raising tropical fish. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Thomas) Riebock, Laura (Michael) Colwell, James (Margaret) Pardi, and Michael Pardi. To his eleven grandchildren he was known as "Papa" and dearly loved. He is also survived by his sister, Joanne Lewis; brother, Paul (Charlene) Pardi; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Janice; and sister, Connie Swartz. Those of us remaining realize how blessed we are to have had him in our lives for as long as we did and find great comfort in knowing he will continue to guide and watch over us. Friends may call Thursday, October 9, 2025, between 4-7 pm at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43212 (with a prayer service at 6:00 pm). Friends and family are asked to meet Friday morning October 10, 2025 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 20 E. Dominion Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43214 for the Funeral Mass which begins at 10:30 am.
