Obituary
Giuseppe "Joe" Antonio Pingue, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025. He was born in Introdacqua, Italy to the late Venanzio Pingue and Rosina (Volpe) Pingue on December 21, 1940. Joe was the fourth of seven children. In 1954, Joe emigrated to Niagara Falls, Canada and then came to The United States in 1963. Joe was proud to become an American citizen, raise his family and start his business in Columbus, Ohio where he began building homes in the Columbus and surrounding areas. Several of his homes were showcased in the Columbus "Parade of Homes" throughout the years. He later purchased and developed a large tract of land which eventually became Worthington Woods. Joe truly enjoyed his work and loved coming to the office every day until he retired. Joe was a man who had a true passion for music- he enjoyed singing, dancing, and serenading friends and family with his accordion. He enjoyed continuing many traditions from his childhood in Italy which included making homemade wine and sausages, cooking and gardening. Other favorite hobbies of Joe's were hunting, golfing & snow skiing. Throughout the years, Joe was an active member of the Columbus Italian Club, Abruzzi Club, Aurora Club, and Club Italia in Niagara Falls, Canada. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Venanzio and Rosina Pingue; his brother, Sabatino Pingue; his sister, Giovina (Pingue) Ventresca; his brothers-in-law, Tonino Spinosa and Uliano Ventresca; his nephew, Uliano Ventresca Jr.; and the mother of his four children, Joanna Loretta Pingue. Surviving Joe are his children and their families; Joseph Pingue Jr. (Becky Pinnell); Diana (Pingue) Allen; Michael Pingue (Paula) and Maria Pingue (Steve Lindsey); He will also be missed by his dear friend, Rebecca Kintz; and his grandchildren Katherine Allen and Rocco and Presley Pingue. He also leaves behind his brothers Mario Pingue (Irma), Felix Pingue (Lucy) and his sister-in-law, Maria (Ventresca) Pingue who reside in Canada; his brother, Franco Pingue (Antonietta) and sister, Filomena (Pingue) Spinosa in Italy. Joe has also left countless treasured nieces, nephews, and friends. Family and friends may call Sunday July 20, 2025 at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home 1177 W 5th Ave Columbus, Ohio 43212 from 2-5 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am on Monday, July 21, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church 720 Hamlet Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Joe always wore a smile as I performed at Vittoria’s. I think the most memorable thing I can say are captured in these words he would sing with me: “That’s Amore!” Rest peacefully Joe.

Our family shares your grirf and sadness at the passing of your courageous and heroic “Joe”. Coming to a new country and new world to start and build a successful business and future shows Giuseppe’s drive and bravery and commitment to making his family’s dreams come true.
We salute your family and encourage you to always remember the good things and happiness that your Dad brought you. It’s easier to smile and laugh….than to cry and lament. He was a goid man. Better to celebrate than mourn.
With love,
