George and I worked together for several years,
In the Division of Engineering & Construction, within the City of Columbus.
We all respected George given his background in the Marine Corps.
He was a person who expected, and respected individuals that would stand up to him.
George oversaw the entire area of maintenance operations for our division. This included all Bridge related work, which is where George and I worked closely.
Over the years, we became like a family, and continued our relationships into retirement with our annual retirement luncheons.
I send my prayers for strength and that peace that surpasses all understanding.

George Mussi was taller than his life appeared. I always thought of him as the godfather of the 12th district American Legion. It was just the way he carried himself. He respected himself. He was kind, yet Firm. He had worked in government same as I, and I think that had a special connection. And government work you learn to adapt a special front to others. He was knowledgeable, dependable, respectful, and he was indeed a mentor. He was the definition. “Cool”. If you knew him and could call him friend, you know exactly what I mean. I am sad at his departure. Just knowing he was around major feel secure. The American Legion demand so much of one’s time. But I’m glad that Mr. George Mussi was part of my time as a navy man, I say to George., smooth winds my friend. Until we meet again on the other side..
