Obituary

Eleanor "Ellie" Savoia Smith was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven Feb 16, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Margheurite (Petrella) Savoia; brother, H. Anthony Savoia; niece, Andrea (Savoia) Adams. Ellie is survived by husband of 61 years, Dan "Tuck" Smith; siblings, Joseph (Natalie) Savoia, Regina Solario; daughters, Shelly (Lorant) Ipacs, Mindy (Mike) Blackwell; and the loves of her life - grandchildren, Brent Dewey, Kayleigh (Kyle) Shonk, Nathan (Melaina) Blackwell; and great-grandchildren, Rose Eliana, MaryJane Eleanor and Baby Blackwell coming soon; nieces and nephews, Deanna (Joe) Raymond, Ron (Susan) Savoia, Michael (Berniece) Savoia, Tony Stengel, Carl Savoia, Monica Bailey, Joey Savoia, Mark, Brenda, Bill, & Doug Hutcheson, Tim, Eddie & Leila Murphy, Russ and John Smith; sisters-in-Law, Ruth Hutcheson and Eula Murphy; Goddaughter, Dee Dee Perez; Best Friend, Mary Jo (Marankie) Hadley; and numerous other cousins and friends. Eleanor was a member of the Nationares Choir before retiring and her church choir. She loved shopping, time with her grandchildren and her pizza nights with her nieces, nephews, family and friends. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion and made everyone feel like they were her favorite. To say she will be missed is an understatement, but we are forever better people for having the privilege of having her in our lives. She added a little "sparkle" to everyone's day. Her most important and cherished accomplishments in life were her family and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which she wished for everyone to also have. "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:12-13. Eleanor's family will have a visitation on Mon Feb 24, 2025 from 4-7 pm and Tue Feb 25, 2025 from 10-11 am with a Celebration of Life following at 11 am Officiated by Chaplain April Thoms at the John Quint Treboni FH, 1177 W. 5th Ave Columbus, Ohio 43212. Entombment at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High St, Lockbourne, Ohio 43137 will follow. In Lieu of flowers, Eleanor wishes for donations to be made to Flashpoint Fort Worth, Texas on The Victory Channel at Kenneth Copeland Ministries.
