I started getting my haircut with "Donnie" when I was 13, left Ohio when I was 19 and started my state hopping because of my chosen career, but every chance I had to be home on the Hilltop I would call him ahead of time to sit in that chair to get my razor cut....the BEST there was!!!! My brother had 52 years with him. I was fortunate enough to be able to be in that chair for a few more cuts as I had the opportunity to be back in CBUS and on the Hilltop once a month a couple of years ago to get my "cut" and listen to Donnie sing and rag on my brother and I. There will never be another "DOM" and those of us who were privileged enough to spend time with him are sad at his passing. Be at peace Dominic.

Dear Polly,
Iβm so sorry for your loss. I was very fortunate to meet the two of you. I remember when you guys used to go to Vittorias every weekend. How could I forget that Dominic loved his wedding soup with a lot of Parmesan cheese:) and of course, his gnocchis with marinara sauce. I have always had great experiences with the two of you.
We will be praying for you, and I bet that Dominic is looking over us in heaven. Thank you both for everything you have done, not only for me, but for my family.

I knew Dom as a regular customer of Figlio when I worked there as a bartender and server. It was always a good night when I saw him and Polly sitting at one of my tables - I knew I'd have some fun stories, kind words, and smiles in store for me. When I left the restaurant to start my first full-time job, they even invited me to sit down and join them for dinner as friends. Dom will truly be missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to get to know him, including all current and former Figlio staff. My deepest condolences to Polly.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Dom (Mr. Policaro, as I called him for years) began cutting my hair when I was 12 and has continued to cut my hair nearly every month since then until this past September. Over 45 years. I was privileged to also receive the occasional cut from his daughter Lisa before she moved on to her next profession. I was often in his chair, receiving my haircut, when Lisa would call to say good morning to her dad. He would lovingly brag that she called him every day. He spoke with love about his daughter Gina as well and with adoration and love when speaking of the love of his life, Polly. I only met her once, while getting a hair cut one morning and it was a pleasure. Dom would speak of her with the respect and love of a happily married man, at nearly every appointment.
I'm sure that I'm only one name on a long list of people who will miss his presence in their lives. Thank you for sharing him with us.
