Mr. and Mrs. Blateri, and brothers Frank and Rex, I am so sorry for your loss. Diane was unique-- very funny, wise, vulnerable, yet still a strong woman. My "girly girl." I truly treasured her friendship, and will never forget her.

I wish to express my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. I have not talked to Diane in many years. She and I were very good friends at OSU in the Jounalism Collegr. She was also a bridesmaid in my wedding in October 1987. She was a good person and definitely my "fun" friend at OSU, full of life and energy. I was blessed to have known such a person.

May God comfort you in your time of sorrow. My prayers are with you at this difficult time.

I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you all. Diane was very special and had a sense of humor like no other. Her terrific gifts of sarcasm, self deprecation and razor sharp wit made for the most entertaining of conversations. Her laugh was infectious, her perspectives insightful and her observations were ALWAYS so “right on the money”. Diane had the gift of saving us all a bit of time, and telling it like it REALLY was. She just cut to the chase. You always knew where you stood and how much you were loved or appreciated.

I know she will be deeply and forever missed by those who knew her well, loved her most and shared something special with her. My heart goes out to you all. Please know that Diane has been in my prayers for such a long time and you are there now. I am thinking of each of you and know that she is watching from above - and commentating. :) May you find peace in her memory.

With love,

Stacey

I wanted to pass along my sincerest condolences for the loss of Diane. Diane hired me for my first job at Fitch in 1997. While Diane and I crossed paths at work it wasn’t until football season we really got to know each other. I didn’t realize what a big Buckeye fan she was (unless with played Penn State) until we ran into each other at HeinyGate. It was there that she introduced me to many a family member and friends with whom she hung out with back stage.

No matter whom Diane was with she always made me feel welcome and a part of the group. I count myself lucky that I was able to spend one last game with her this past year at the Texas game. It will be difficult to not see her smiling face and get a big hug the next time there is a home game.

She will be deeply missed by all who she touched.

My deepest condolences,

john

Mr. & Mrs. Blateri, Frankie and Rex,
I want you to know how very much your entire family has meant to me all these many years. To lose a daughter and a sister is something I realize is beyond surreal. Diane was such a funny little kid when she was growing up. I thoroughly enjoyed her laughter and her spirit. From what I've read (at the Dispatch web condolences) she only shined brighter as an adult. So many of her friends really cherished her and for that you should really take comfort as parents and as a family. Words are all we have to express our feelings and at this time they just aren't enough. You have my sincerest sympathies and my heartfelt gratitude to have known each and every one of you. Diane will always have a genuine place in my heart and mind and her smile will continue to make all who had the pleasure of knowing her continue to smile. All my love to your family. Don Lewis

I just found out today that Diane passed away. I was her manager at Wal-Mart Distribution and loved her so much! She was an awesome person and we became good friends on and off the job. I briefly kept in touch with her when I left there in 1995 for a year or so. I am deeply saddened by her death and you and your family will be in my prayers.

Dear Blateri Family,
I, as a cousin of Diane's felt such a connection to her even though we didn't see each other as often as we should have. I remember being at Christ the King Church and all of the parishes would come to our church for mass. I was so excited that Diane was on our end of town. I will never forget singing "Day by Day" on stage at my sister Margaret's wedding with Diane, Lisa, and Annette when we all were around 7 years old. I had so many wonderful times with Diane when we'd see each other at weddings and when we'd run into each other at Victory's in German Village. What great wonderful times and memories. Diane was a blast to be around! There needs to be more people in the world like her and I have learned alot from Diane. I've learned that life is short, live each day like it's your last and HAVE FUN!. She had the BEST personality of anyone I have ever met in this world. She was beautiful inside and out. I want you to know how very sad I am that she is gone. I regret not getting together with her more often. She truly was the best. I look forward to seeing her again one day and until then she will always remain in my heart and in my memories. I love all of you so much! My thoughts, prayers and love are with all of you!

Dear Mr. amd Mrs. Blateri, we have never met, but I knew Diane through Carol Thompson. I just wanted to let you know what a special person your daughter was. She was such a joy to be around. She always made me laugh and have fun-which is one of the most awesome qualities anyone could have, in my opinion I am still in shock over her last years, including her heart attack. All I know is life in not fair. I consider myself a better person for knowing her and I wanted you to know. I hope you and your family are doing as well as can be expected.

My deepest sympathy goes out to your family. I just found out about Diane's passing after being out of touch from just having a baby. I used to work in the HR department with Diane at the Limited from 1998-2000. We kept in touch and remained friends after I had left the company. She was like a big sister to me in the time of need and always had a way to make me smile. Her courage and strength was just as big as her heart. I will miss her dearly.

You are in my thoughts and prayers,
