Delmer Earl "Pete" Wogan, age 98, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022, surrounded by his family. Pete was born in Pomeroy, Ohio in 1924. He married his sweetheart, Pearl, in 1942 and they went on to have three children. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a corporal in the 601st Military Police Battalion. In his four years of service, he saw forty-two states and seven countries. After leaving the Army, he was an officer in the Columbus Police Department for twenty-six years. Pete was also head of security at Huntington Bank for twenty-four years. Pete loved Jesus dearly and was proud to serve as a deacon at his church. He was also a dedicated Mason and achieved the rank of a 32nd degree. He was loving, a jokester and could give you a hug and kiss that would make you feel cherished for a lifetime. To know Pete was to love Pete. For 79 years, Pete was a devoted husband to Pearl. He also was a dedicated family man. He loved to play golf and won the Ohio FOP twice. Pete rubbed elbows with great golfers like Jack Nicholas. He also loved to play bingo and was the "Skip-Bo" champion of his family. Preceded in death by his mother, Edith (Romine); father, Oren; son, Michael Earl Wogan; sisters, Mary Bell Wallace, Ida Olive Frazier, Dorothea Lambright; and brother John Donovan Wogan. Pete is survived by his two daughters Doris Lynn Burgess and Patricia Eileen Smith (Wayne); seven grandchildren: Shawn Barnhart (Emily), Andreas Burgess, Justin Burgess, Curtis Burgess (Andrea), Brandon Wogan (Tanya), Steffen Wogan (Linda), Shannon Burke (Pete); thirteen great-grandchildren: Jaeden Barnhart, Jacob Burgess, Westin Burgess, Sophie Burgess, Charlie Burgess, Gwynn Burgess, Faith Wogan, Jacob Wogan, Colin Wogan, Angel Burke, Delaney Burke, Peter Burke IV, Jameson Burke. A memorial service will be held on Friday November 4th, 2022 from 11:00am-12:30pm at John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 West 5th Avenue, Columbus OH 43212. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pete's memory can be made to the First Baptist Church of Fort Meade, 307 E Broadway St, Fort Meade, FL 33841.
