Obituary
Christina "Christine" Ann Karabinos passed away suddenly while visiting family in Florida on March 7, 2005. Christine is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Rita Winkel. Christine is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Edward Francis, and her two sons; the lights of her life, Brian Edward and Matthew Henry. Christine is also survived by her father, Gerald Winkel, her sisters, Jeannie Koerner, Patricia (Paul) Baehr, Geraldine Lattimer, Linda (Dan) Ratusz, brothers Thomas (Marcy) and John (Carole).Christine was born November 11, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio, where she spent her youth, graduating from Upper Arlington High School in 1975 and later becoming a licensed esthetician. Christine and Ed moved the family to Sacramento, California in 1990 to open the Stanley Steemer franchise that Ed still owns and operates.Christine, a resident of El Dorado Hills for the last 9 years, loved entertaining and spending time with her friends and neighbors. Christine also enjoyed home decorating projects, gardening, as well as time on the course with her regular golfing girlfriends. As much as Christine enjoyed her hobbies, she derived the greatest joy from the true passion of her life: her family, who she affectionately referred to as “my people.” Christine showed her love and fierce devotion to her sons in many ways; from cheering them on at Little League games, to gliding down the ski slopes alongside them, or collecting and organizing college information. Friends may call Friday, March 11, 2005, at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4:00-8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1860 Northam Road, Columbus, Ohio. Fr. David Young, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

Dear Ed:
My condolences from me and my family.
You know that Christine meant a lot to me. She was the one who just embraced me when I came to the convention. Her spirit was higher than anyone. We laughed and she made me feel like I was the only one in the room. She did that to all she touched. We always talked about getting together in California for a girls day out. We never did get to do that but I will always remember her beautiful smile and laugh.
My love to you and your family.
Therese

It's important to us you know how much we care about you. When we left California, Christine would always say to me the holidays, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, would be so different in California without us all being together. What she was really saying was how much all of us became like family. Believe us when we tell you our pain is real, and you never leave our thoughts. We feel our place to see you is California. We hope to see you soon. All our love, John, Terry, Ryan and Seany, who may be feeling the loss most of all.

My deepest sympathies upon hearing of Christine's passing. I will always remember her passion for life and
will continue to pray for her and
both of your families. My high school
memories were not that wonderful but
thanks to Christine and the Winkel
family I can think back on some of
them and smile. I know that you will
be a wonderful support to one another.
To this day I can still hear Christine
talking about Bone, Gint, Linda, Jerry
Johnny, Patti, Jeannie, Rupert and Rita. My love and prayers and apologies
for not attending the service as I live
in Florida now. Most sincerely, JODI

I'm so very sorry for all of you. Chris was always my favorite of my sister Jodi's highschool friends. When I moved back home from Athens Chris and I became friends. She was so much fun and such an athelete. I remember her dragging me to the gym and beating the daylights out of me in racketball. Afterwards we'd shower and get ready to to out. Chris would look like a she was ready for the cover of Comsopolitan while my face remained the color of a tomato for several hours (but I loved her anyway). I can only imagine how much you all will miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with you. In His Love, Kathy Storey-Baker

My heart is so sad and heavy for all of you. I remember meeting Christine when she was 7 years old. She was fun and funny and beautiful. Being her babysitter, I remember some really cute stories about her. I know how painful this time is and I want you to know that I am thinking of all of you and praying for your comfort.
