Obituary

Carole Ann (Potenza) Cordi, age 75, gained her wings on Friday, March 15, 2024 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Carole was born on March 10, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Richard and Gesilda (Rose) Potenza. She attended St. Francis DeSales High School and graduated in 1967. She obtained her Cosmetology license in 1969 and began her career as a hair stylist at Corelli's Salon. She later opened Capelli's Hair Designers in Columbus, Ohio and went on to become the owner and president of Steel Erectors International Inc. A one-of-a-kind person, Carole was a loving wife, mother, nonna and friend to all. She was never happier than when her home was full of friends and family. Selfless, she always put others first and was always there for everyone even during her toughest days. Carole loved music, dancing and sleepovers with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren's fondest memories with her are late nights playing solitaire on the computer, playing with make-up, sneaking special treats before bed and the endless kindness, kisses, advice and support she gave them, including her weather bug alerts. Carole is survived by and will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 51 years, Angelo Cordi; children Stacey (Lana Williams) Cordi, Mark (Clistie) Cordi, Michael (Michelle) Cordi, Joe (Jess) Cordi, Marissa (Rocco) Lumbaca; grandchildren Gianni, Adrienne Cordi; Kyerston, Malia, Gianna Cordi; Giovanni Cordi; Stella, Luciano Cordi; Rocco, Mia Lumbaca; Trinity, Trenton Cline. Sibling Barbara Potenza; Aunt Joanne Mangia and countless nieces, nephews and many dear cousins that were like brothers and sisters to her; numerous other friends and relatives; dear friends, Marsha Weyrick and Lolita Lewis. Carole is preceded by Aunts and Uncles; Geneva (John) Faiella, Sistino (Settimia) Faiella, Lillian (Ray) Quint, Wilma (Nick) Pollina, Mary (Dan) Hollern, Elmo Faiella and Anthony Mangia. Brothers-in-Law Michele Cordi, Antonio Scali, Giuseppe Cordi, Antonio Cordi, Enrico Cordiano. Friends and Family may call Friday, March 22, 2024 at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W 5th Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43212 from 4-7 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43235. Rev. Fr. Bill Faiella, Celebrant. Friends and Family are asked to meet at the church. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 9571 N. High St. Lewis Center, Ohio 43035. Carol and I worked together at Beauty by Fischer. She was like a celebrity hair stylist to me because she had worked at Corelli's! That's where all the girls went to get their hair done for prom. She always felt like a big sister to me. She gave good advice and was so very loving. She has a brand new body and will be forever in the arms of our Lord Jesus, comforted and free of all diseases. God bless the family. I pray you will have comfort and peace.
