Obituary

Betty J. Lahr was born July 14th, 1928 to Sheldon and Rosanna (Steinhilber) Lahr in Bucyrus, Ohio. After graduating from Upper Sandusky, Ohio High School, Betty first worked at a local bank and then moved to Columbus Ohio and continued her career in Banking. After as short time in Columbus, she switched careers and went to work for the Benefit Association of Railway Employees Insurance Company. She continued in the Life Insurance business for approximately 40 years before retiring. Betty is survived by a brother, Robert Lahr; Sister-in-laws, Pamela Lahr and Marilyn Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Betty loved taking care of her home, working crossword puzzles, and just relaxing. She was a member of the Grandview Heights Senior Center and a member of the Grandview Jolly Steppers. The Jolly Steppers was a line dancing program that performed at many functions and visited many nursing homes. They provided excellent entertainment and simply just made people feel happy in the moment. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 1-2:30 pm at the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 W 5th Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43212. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:30 pm. A private family inurnment will take place at the Martin Luther Cemetery in Bucyrus, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or to the Celebrate Life Foundation.
