Bernard John Melchiorre, age 71, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at Grant Medical Center. He retired from the Big Bear Stores as a Fleet Maintenance Manager. He was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church and the S.F.I. Bernard was a graduate of St. Aquinas College High School School, Class of 1950. He is preceded in death by parents Marion "Tubby" & Elizabeth, sister Philomena, brother Marion, Jr., brothers-in-law: Salvatore Lopresti, Joseph Vittorio and Oliver Rossetti. Surviving Bernard is his beloved wife of 52 years Edith "Dolly"(Vittorio), daughters; Elizabeth(Jeffrey)Leffler, Bernadette(Patrick)O'Reilly, sons; Bernard A., Ronald J. and Steven(Suzy), grandchildren: Amy K. Leffler, , Matthew S., Michael A., Brandon C. Melchiorre and Natalie M. Melchiorre, sister; Helen(Jack)Papenbrock, Josephine Melchiorre and Anna(Tom)Pfeifer, sisters-in-law: and Vilma Melchiorre, Mary Lopresti, Lucy Vittorio, Doris Rossetti, Rosie(Fred)Zugaro, Mary Alice(Ron)Cua, Cecilia(Eddie)Carfagna, brothers-in-law Dominic(Betty), Richard(Jean), Frank(Marcie)Vittorio and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family will receive friends on Monday, December 15, 2003 at the John Quint & Sons Funeral Home, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 3:45 p.m.. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at the St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road, Rev. Fr. James T. Smith, Celebrant. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High Street. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to the American Heart Association, P.O.
