Obituary
Tony "Anthony" Valentino, born May 2, 1946, died May 8, 2011. Tony was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His favorite activities included rooting for the buckeyes, golfing with his son and grandson, attending his grand babies activities, teaching them to play soccer and taking them for walks. He will be dearly missed by the St. Timothy Catholic Church and School community. Over the years he was a softball coach, volleyball coach, soccer coach, festival captain, spaghetti dinner coordinator, men's club president, usher, and friend. Tony loved his chosen profession and touched many lives as a hair designer and business owner of Valentino's Hair Fashions in Bexley and Upper Arlington for more than 40 years. Preceded in death by parents - Vincent and Rose(Penzone) Valentino and brother Charles. Survived by his loving wife Debi, daughter Tiffany Valentino-Rigsby, son-in-law Tim Rigsby, son Greg, daughter-in-law Jodie, five grandchildren; Joseph Michael Rigsby, David Allen Rigsby, II, Tyler Anthony Rigsby, Gabriella Rose Valentino & Rocky Anthony Valentino, mother and father-in-law - Patricia and Jack Allerton, brothers Dominic (Flora) and Vincent, sisters Angela Morris and Margaret (Bill) Williams, sister-in-law Kathy, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many caring friends. Friends may call WEDNESDAY May 11th 2011 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4:00-7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 5:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM on THURSDAY May 12th at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Timothy Hayes, Presider. FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO MEET AT CHURCH. Private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish, may contribute to the Tony Valentino's Grandchildren Education Fund, PO Box 20565, Columbus, Ohio 43220. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.

You all have our deepest sympathy. I remember seeing Tony and his son Greg in our sons place of business many times. He always greeted me with a big smile and a hug. I am so glad I spent time with you these past years. Lots of conversations about hair people we both knew, hair cuts, color, and even our last talk about the shoes we wore and our acheing backs and feet. I will miss your sweetness. We are beyond saddened to say "good bye" to one of our all-time favorite lifetime friends and family members- TONY!!
Tony gave me my first haircut, my first job, and cut my oldest son, Camden's hair for the first time; but beyond all of that- he has always had such a special place in our hearts!!
A man who always went above and beyond to make others special...a true rare gem in life.

I am deeply sad to think of a world without Tony Valentino! He became my stylist when I returned to Ohio 12yrs ago, but he quickly became a true friend and confidant. I will miss Tony taking care of my hair. I was a client of his since his Lazarus days, following him from Bexley to Upper Arlington. I never had a bad hair cut. I know it will be difficult to find someone else who measures up to Tony.

Please accept my heart felt condolences for the passing of such a dear sweet man. Tony was a huge part of my life. He was my first hair dresser starting at the age of 11. He shared so many special occasions and firsts with our family (The Soloves). My mom was one of his first clients on James Rd. He gave me my first perm ! He always had a big hug for me when he finished my hair. He was there to do my hair and keep me calm on my wedding day. The list goes on...I will miss his warm smiling face and teddy bear hugs. I am so sorry for your loss. Tony was such a wonderful person and I always looked forward to seeing Tony because I considered him a friend after all of the years he cut my hair. I wish I had realized sooner so that I could have attended the funeral and paid my respects to Tony and the family. I recently lost my father and I know how much it means to the family when they see how much that person was loved, and Tony was loved by many. I will miss him dearly.
