Obituary

Angela Marie (Casbarro) Romano, age 92 was welcomed into Heaven on August 19, 2024 from Westerville, Ohio. She was at home surrounded by family as she peacefully passed away. She was preceded in death by parents, Anthony and Maryanne "Mamie" Casbarro; her loving husband, Charles "Chuck" Romano; daughter, Toni Jo; siblings, Josephine, Margaret and Don; and mother and father-in-law, Charles "Charlie" and Eva Romano. Angela is survived by her children, Paula (Hal) Hamilton, Charles Romano, and John (Marlene-deceased) Romano; grandchildren, Hal (Abby) Hamilton, Angela (Matt) Hufman, Christina (Tyler) Allen, Toni-Sophia (Declan) McCavana, Audrey (Stephen) DeVeau, Lucinda (Marshall) Sherman, Charles Romano, Brooke Romano, Jarrod Cooney and Kayla Cooney; great-grandchildren, Avery, Quinn, Adeline, Elena, Enzo, Henry, Charlotte, Luca and Antanella. Angela was one of the world's most loving and caring people. She always put the needs of others in front of her own. She left high school to care for her ailing mother (and was awarded her diploma in 2014). When she was a young mother of 4 small children, she welcomed her widowed mother-in-law to live with her family for over 25 years. In the 1980's when Angela tragically lost her daughter, Toni Jo, and later her husband, Chuck, she was the rock that held the family together. Family always came first, and she was extremely proud of her Italian heritage. Chuck Romano was the love of Angela's life. They were truly devoted to each other. They had a wonderful marriage, raising 4 children. Diner every night was a time for the family to laugh and bond. "Our parents showed us what unconditional love, family and support mean." Angela's grandchildren called her Nonnie. They have fond memories of her singing, dancing and eating ice cream and popcorn with them. There are many great memories of how she made Christmas special and extended family vacations and weddings well into her late 80's. She insisted that all her children learn to swim despite being afraid of the water herself. In the summers she would make a big pot of spaghetti to be eaten at the river when the family went boating. Angela had many great friends and family who she enjoyed visiting and playing cards with on Friday nights. And of course, there were her Bus Buddies who she would have breakfast with every day after driving busses for children with disabilities. All the children in the neighborhood loved stopping by and talking with Angela at home. She was kind to everyone and never spoke a negative word about anyone. She treated everyone equally. Please join Angela's family and friends to celebrate her beautiful life. Visiting hours are from 6-8 pm on Fri. Aug 23, 2024, at John Quint Treboni FH, 1177 W 5th Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43212. Mass will be held at 9 am on Sat. Aug 24, 2024 at Saint Mary Catholic Church 684 S 3rd St. Columbus, Ohio 43206. A procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S High St. Lockbourne, Ohio 43137 for her burial. If you would like to donate in Angela's memory, please consider Franklin County Senior Options, LifeCare Alliance or Star House.

I wish to express my deepest condolences for the loss of your Mother, Angela. Although I only knew her for a short while, I could see she had the biggest heart, a beautiful soul and just a ray of sunshine. I pray that God holds you both and your family a little closer as you all transition through this difficult time.
